Hi gents,
WAAAYY back on page one I posted a FF FSB build. I had spare parts lying around so I dusted off that build and have been re-vamping it. Should be done in a week or two. I will post it here once it is complete.

My dedicated thread on my new VLTOR CASV MLok was moved into "Rifles, uppers, barrels and more" a.k.a. where threads go to die. So, I'll bump up this thread.

Now that RAS II 9mm Colt brings back some memories of an old contractor security detail.
Had cut down A2 carry handles as a rear sight (??) which was an unusual choice.

At 21 pages, I can't recall whether I previously posted. This is my HD carbine with FSB and free float Daniel Defense Omega 7.0 quad. Everything I need but nothing more.

Thanks. Honored to be in the company of your build. I've changed it up a bit since then by replacing the M4 waffle with a CTR, the MBUS with a MBUS Pro, moving the weapon light back a bit out of harms way but still ahead of the FSB. Not really happy with that fat-ish front grip, though. May go back to a simple hand stop.

Started as a scrap parts truck gun but has turned into my favorite. Spikes 12.5 mid length, billet FSB, spikes chrome bcg, Bushmaster upper, 80 lower custom engraved, sba3 with split fix, RRA handguard from the EE, tlr on 45. Holo in an adm casv.

Nice job, my friend, but before you paint her, what's the deal with the offset rear sight with no offset front? I'd look into a lower profile set that you can flip down when not in use, but that just me.

Nice gun! I regret selling my OG CASV so had to buy a new one, i might run a comp m3 though instead of this T1.

My first AR build. All Aero for the most part. I’m going to be putting a Rad Dot & light on is soon. I think I have the bug now after putting this together. It’s as fun building them as shooting them. I’m working on a pistol now.

How do you like that ARMS railed 20"? I sort of want to do a Najaf-ish rifle but I dunno about spending the money for a SIR like that.

I just got through scrolling through this thread. Lots of nice builds! I’ve got a couple that qualify:

Rifle on the left was my first build. It’s morphed a lot over the years, but only for the better. RRA NM 20” and NM carry handle with a 12” DDM4 rail and JP adjustable front sight block with NM post. Riding on a Fulton ‘U.S. Rifle’ lower with RRA NM trigger.

Rifle on the right started off as an A4gery and has also morphed over the years into an ‘A5gery’. 20” Windham barrel also riding in a DDM4 12” rail. BCM upper, FN USGI bolt, USMC marked BUIS, Bible verse A4 RCO in a LT799 mount, VLTOR charging handle, VLTOR A5 kit, PSA M16A4 lower and Colt parts kit. Tipped with a Dead Air 3-prong KeyMo mount. If you’ve never shot 20” with a can, you’re missing out.

Both DDM4 rails wear KAC covers which fit like a glove.

My other qualifier is my trunk gun, truck gun, and general BLM land knockabout Carbine. Spikes 14.5 CHF barrel pinned and welded with a Forward Controls stoner KeyMo flash hider inside a DD Omega 9 Mlok handguard. BCM upper, Geissele milspec bolt, VLTOR charging handle, basic red chevron M4 ACOG in a LT799 mount, USMC marked BUIS, PSA M4A1 lower with BCM parts kit, and BCM stocks.

Photos taken while camping in an ice storm last winter in the upper Rio Grande gorge area of NM.

It was nice while I had it, but it was a pig. I have had a few SIR rails and keep selling them. They are solid, well made, and look awesome.

How long of a rail do you really need? I was tempted by faux dissipators but no one sells a lightweight barrel version, was thinking of doing a lightweight midlength barrel with FSB with a MCMR. Is the extra length from a carbine to a mid gas enough to not be too cramped with a light?
