A few companies make rubber bands you can wrap them around the mag and they come in different colors and state the caliber. I only put them on my .300, simple and cheap.

I personally just buy lancer mags in .300  and only for .300. So that way it's a whole different look and feel compared to a pmag or USGI

You wont need it in a .300blk. I ran an H1 / springco white fine. Super smooth. Some folks are of the belief that mo buffer mo better but I am not necessarily one of those people.

110 Grain TXRG Sellier Bellot Exergy ammo seems to be a good substitute for the impossible to get black hills tac tx. It's S&B's take on that barnes bullet from what I can tell.

I bought half a case to test out recently, haven't shot it yet. Would be interesting to see a side by side.

New generation lead free bullets Modern, highly efficient design incorporating a boat-tail base with a new, pointed tip for a flat trajectory and maximum retained energy. Blue plastic tip enhances expansion at all ranges while the solid copper construction maximizes weight retention.

Does anybody see a better way I should lay this out before I start cutting?  Should I not make cutouts for the mags and just let the pressure of the closed case hold them in place?

Run it without the middle foam. It will limit what you can put in the case.

I tried that but it doesn’t get enough contact from the top to hold anything in place.

I was under the impression that the pics with the M42K were probably just before they got the sandman S. The pics that we have seen with the AAC can date back to 2019 or 2020. Figured it was probably during a transition period. But that was just how I rationalized it.

I don’t shoot enough like those guys do but my 5.56 has 400 rounds of Mk262 Mod1 through it all suppressed without a single issue. The only things different that I run is the BRT 0.069” gas tube and Geissele 42 H2; shoots real soft suppressed and will cycle just fine unsuppressed.

We were good buddies on my old ship and, he left there to go to Dam Neck. Funny enough I sent him a pic of the “Teams and Shit” rifle and he said there was a good possibility he helped sight it in lol. He’s always been really hush hush about what goes on down there but he just left that command so he’s opening up some.

Yeah I was kind of surprised to hear him say that as well but I got no reason to think he’s bullshittin. Before the helo pics were take he tried dropping hints about noveske when I told him I wanted to get a mr556 but I never made the connection lol

Not so much a sandman issue, but more of an incompatibility of one type of ammo causing some baffle/endcap strikes.
Went back to using the old AAC 2k's for now.
That's what I saw some DG guys running last week.

Wouldn't choking the round to a tighter exit diameter exacerbate the issue? (Unless the Sandman's were equipped with 556 end caps.)
Not doubting you, just getting context.

Like mentioned before. I too, was under the impression the AAC usage was more of a inventory management thing. "Hey we already have these 556 specific cans in inventory, lets use them on our 556 uppers"

I'm just telling what I saw and the explanation. I was very surprised at seeing them on their rifles. They were complaining about the 3 prong flash hider and that's when I noticed the 51 tooth attachment and realized they were running AAC. I asked why and that was the explanation. For whatever reason, the sandman caused some issues, the AAC hasn't. This issue was only with one type of ammo.

Because they were the lowers available in quantity to fulfill a contract for a carbine that required a deep pocket (select fire trigger group)

Figured that was the case or something

Talked to someone who works at dam neck today and he said the contract with dead air has ended or been terminated because they had so many suppressor failures. Said they’re currently running aac but looking at other options
