I just ordered a new KAC SR-15 Rifle today. It is a SR-15 E3 MOD 2 M-LOK in faded dark earth color. It is part number 31900 in the faded dark earth color.
I always wanted one of these and will post pictures after it arrives next week

Congrats on your purchase.  I love my mod 2 which was recently purchased as well.  You won't be disappointed.

Congrats!! I bought one of the first batches of SR15 E3 rifles released commercially back in 2007-2008 and has been my workhorse/old faithful ever since. I've since added quite a few KAC rifles to the collection since then so, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

What optic you plan on using and do you have other AR's to compare it to shooting wise?

I plan to initially shoot it using the iron sights as I used to shoot an AR in the high power leagues several years ago. My 66 yo eyes are not what they used to be but it should be fun to see what I can do. I then plan to take the ACOG TA31F-G from my Colt LE 6920 and see how it compares to it.
Should be interesting.

Not tech. More of a GD topic.

But congrats anyway, I bet it's a sweet ass rifle

Good call OP!  You will be pleased when you run it.  SR-15s are fantastic weapons and I know it'll be a great gun for you.

Awesome and congrats. You won't be disappointed. Great rifle.

Did you mean flat dark earth and not faded dark earth I assume?

When I ordered the rifle the owner of the LGS sent me a picture of it and it is attached. I do not know whether it is called "faded dark earth' or "flat dark earth".
There will probably be a description of the color in the box when I receive next week.

Can't Wait

Congrats on the purchase, you will be very satisfied

I purchaed a used Mod 1 from a member here last year, my first KAC, an outstanding rifle.   Then I purchased a new Mod 2 about a week later.   Not being too crazy about the MLok handguards, so I did not shoot it much, but it started to grow on me and now it is my favorite rifle.

You will not be disappointed one bit, the best trigger available, IMO.

I looked up the same thing prior to my initial post and edited it because I stated that I thought it may be a distributor exclusive but, wasn't sure it that what a fact or not. I know RSR did a Burnt Bronze exclusive of the Keymod Mod 2 so, I leaned towards them doing this run as well.

As shown in the attached offering from Buds Gun Shop:

https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/415005594/KAC+SR-15+MOD2+16+URX4+MLOK+TAUPE

Model 31900-TAUPE is actually in the part number and shows a "Taupe" finish. I should be getting the rifle in the next few days and will provide some pictures and additional info.

I was thinking about getting another ACOG for it but am asking if anyone can offer any other suggestion as to the type of scope to get for the rifle.

Thanks
Al

Ai,

I have a Nightforce NX8 on my Mod 2 and it a great, compact set up.  I am really leaning towards LPVOs these days on my rifles.  As they have diopter adjustments that my eyes need.

The scope was in a 20 MOA NF unmount, but I just swapped it out for a Geisselle mount this past weekend.   Our range is closed due to high water so I cannot sight it in just yet.

I have a Night Force scope on my JP LRP-07 rifle and it is great. Will have to consider one for the SR-15.

Took the new SR-15 to the range today and was really happy with it .
Sighted in both the iron sights and the ACOG at 100 yards and had a great day.
Will upload some pictures soon.

I went to the range today and shot the SR-15. I was using the 77 gr FGMM Sierra load and was really pleased with the results. At 100 yards after adjusting the ACOG 4 clicks right was able to shoot a 1/4 inch five shot group - four rounds through the same hole.
Damn this rifle can shoot!

I pulled the last shot other wise it could have been a one hole five shot group - yea right lol
I plan to shoot my Colt 6920 rifle to compare the accuracy of both. The Colt also has a 16 inch 1:7
twist chrome lined barrel so it should be an interesting comparison. I think the SR-15 has the advantage though since
it does have the free floated barrel with the URX4 hand guard.
