Anyone seen these yet? Looks promising, little pricey but similar to the Hahn but easier to install and it takes Glock mags.
Military Arms Channel just released a video on it. Stern Defense https://youtu.be/siavaA2mWms |

This has my interest. I wish I wouldn't of ordered a Colt adapter last week..
Anyone still have Glock mags on sale? |
|
I'll probably buy one of their complete uppers with the mag well adapter. I've been looking for a Glock compatible 9mm ar15 for a long time and this seems to have all the features without the fuss. Definitely looks like a winner.

It even has a mini feed ramp. The angle of the Glock mag obviously leaves little to work with there, but is that the first Glock setup with a ramp?
The mag release on the bottom would take some getting used to... |

If it works well, it looks like an interesting option for those that prefer blocks.
Let's see who the first place is to 'copy' the design and sell them for ~$100... |

This looks like a winner to me, Especially for those with SBR'd Lowers, The video's were very informative.

That mag release is absolutely genius in its simplicity. I'm kind of surprised no one else thought of it earlier.

I tried to order one but apparently they won't ship it to quite a few states.

The mag block extends below the magwell of the lower, unlike most mag blocks, so you have all kinds of real estate. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

I know it comes with a tension screw, but if you are really worried you can install it with a bullet button.

I need this.
It looks better than the TorkMag Glock insert. Anyone ordered yet? |
|
I have a bunch of Colt 9mm mags and Glock mags so this would be nice for my M-16.
|
|
So if you have your Colt bolt modified to work with this unit, can you continue to use your Colt bolt in a Colt 9mm, or does the mod render it only useable in the Glock mode?

Interesting.
Wonder if the stock AR magwell has enough room for an adapter like this and large frame(.45acp & 10mm) mags |

He says at the end of the video they are working on "other" mag brand blocks. I wonder if they are working on like S&W mags or maybe sten or some other cheap mags.

Hahn has had STEN magblocks for years now. Works w/ the Olympic upper.

Very good video. This looks like a pretty nice product.
I have used colt style mag blocks before with very good results, but this looks like a great option for a glock shooter. My 9mm ARs have become my go-to range guns. All are reliable, accurate, cheap to shoot, and have less uncomfortable blast than a 5.56. I made it to a range with a 12" steel gong at 200 yards. With a Weaver 1-3x scope, sighted in for 50 yards, putting the point of the reticle where it transitioned from thick to thin (I forget what this area is called) was pretty much on for elevation, and we were able to ring the 200 yard target most of the time with a simple rest. Pretty neat to ring steel at 200 yards with a 9mm and $8 per box of ammo (wolf steel cased, box of 50). I read elsewhere that at that range, the 9mm projectile might only have a bit over 200 ft/lbs of energy, but it was still good fun. At 50 yards and less, shooting the larger steel targets for handguns was actually too easy. |

I knew it was going to happen eventually. My older brother and I had 3d print designs for something extremely similar to this.
We got busy with other projects and let this one die away. The mag release mechanism was very similar to our design except for the fact that we had an HK style mag release. Great job for the guys who made this! |

I ordered one Friday, but it's still showing pending/unfulfilled. Well see when if/it gets here.

I e-mailed with Team Stern yesterday. I asked if they were shipping ASAP.....This was their instant response:
"Our shipping policy is to ship within 3-7 days. Our internal goal is to ship same business day. However, we have re-engineered the mag release to be flush with the mag well so it cannot be hit or caught on anything. Also, we have upgraded the material to 4140 alloy steel which has a very high yield and tensil strength. We have been holding orders for a couple days longer so we can get our improved mag release added. We are hoping to have this completed by Wednesday or Thursday." Was a great person to email with and was lightening fast. I am pretty sure I will be ordering one. |

It's steel now? That's significantly less appealing. (I swear I remember reading that it was aluminum, originally.) I wonder if they're fixing problems in early testing or trying to stick at the goal price point with cheaper materials?
|
|
I think they meant they changed the material for the mag catch.
|
|
Stern verified that just the mag catch release is being changed to the new steel.
|
|
So this is JRZY's kit?
Saw a video of this a last night and immediately thought of his adapter and wondered what had become of it. |

Ah, that's better, thanks for checking and clarifying. With how long of a lever that is, I could see how aluminum might be too flexy. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |
