I had this barrel on a M4 clone, but I really like A2’s and I picked up this sweet Colt upper receiver last week. It is even marked 4 above the gas tube hole. Matched up nicely with a BM lower I got years ago (for those that remember when Aim had them for $50). Anyway, I have seen mention that a crush washer would be correct, but would a castle nut be correct as well? Everything but the lower and lpk are Colt. JT pinned the standard A2 fh with a spacer.

The castle nut wouldn’t be correct AFAIK, should be the old style.

That’s what I was guessing. Fortunately, I have one I can swap out.

The new style castle nut was introduced with the "USGI" M4/M4A1.

Early will be mid 1980s with the first Colt guns made with a number of "COTS" parts laying around from other models. As it would get into the early 1990s, the pre production M4 features such as four position stock and current nut with fat handguards and such would appear.

Love it!  I was just torn between doing a m4 profile barrel or skinny barrel.  I opted skinny but the M4 looks amazing!
