Does seem a bit small.  You could punch it out and bolt on an AGB so you can throttle it down as necessary.

Wasn’t 300BO basically designed as a suppressed subsonic round?  Big, heavy bullet, small case capacity.

You could also mount your gas block and test your ammo, enlarging the hole as needed.  I had to do this with my 375 SOCOM.  Much easier when your range is out your back door.
