CMMG did this back in the 2000s.
CMMG Mk-8 The guy that made these lowers was a scam artist that took everybody for a ride, then bailed town. He was out of Oregon.

It was more of an answer to the Clinton Assault Weapons Ban, which had already expired by the time they got the first versions out, which didn't work and didn't have bolt hold open in the Mk-8.
Aluminum 20rd G3 mags were $3.99 from CDNN back then. You weren't allowed to manufacture new 11rd or more magazines for private American citizen sales, so ArmaLite made their SR25 copy rifle run on M14 mags, while others looked at the G3. |

But, I'd have to stay with my more conventional DPMS Pattern... with a last round bolt hold open. |

I think apex just had G3 mags on sale for $3 a piece .
https://www.apexgunparts.com/g3-hk91-20rd-magazine-aluminum-7-62-nato-good.html Ive got 40 of them boxed up from when they where even cheaper than that. But for the price of $500 for a stripped lower your not really going to recoup your money compared to a complete palmetto lower for only $159. I would rather buy 5 or 10 Sr25/DPMS mags for $20 a piece and not have all the downfalls of the G3 mags. |

I bought a box of 50 a few years back for 50 cents each. A few of them where new in wrap. Never did buy a gun to use them with.
