Anyone own both and care to comment on which one they prefer and why.

I prefer the Modbutton.  Very nice tactile feel that just seems the perfect size to me.  Pretty low profile too.  The size of your rail comes into play too.  I have a KAC RAS and on one rifle and the Surefire switch in a CD LCS was a little too tall, same with Modbutton Lite.  Swapped a Modbutton and it was perfect.  I have the Surefire with LCS on a slimmer MLOK rail its fine.  Just something to think about.

Edit - I always run my switches on the top of rails.  Couple of photos comparing the Surefire/LCS vs Modbutton Lite.

I'm looking at the flat modlight.

Thanks for the photos

If you’re talking about this type of Modbutton, from my experience I prefer it over the Surefire/LCS. But that’s just my preference and it’s still a good combination.  What light were you going with?  If you’re going with a Modlite supposedly the Surefire switches can’t handle the current and won’t give you the full output.

Though I am only powering an X400V, when shopping I was only looking at a $25 upcharge for a mod button lite that is favored for providing a better current. Not that it was really needed, but that it was a superior component... loved the minimalist profile too. Come to find out when installed, the modbutton’s angled plug was 100% needed to fit in front of the 6 o clock URX handguard panel (the hand stop toothed one) that now guards the support hand from interfering with the back of the weaponlight

I already have a modlight setup with the surefire pad. I like it but am looking at the arisaka package for my new sol sage. Damn the unity tatical has angled sides then the modlight box characteristics.  Unity looks a little more ergonomic
