For those who were wondering:

The reason Surefire recommends muzzle brakes instead of FHs is because the brake acts like a baffle, sucking up much of the powder blasting and saving most of the can.

Interesting. Learning hath occurred.

Thanks for that. Seems like the H or H2 will work since I'll only be using 55 and 62 grain ammo out of it. I think I have an extra H buffer somewhere so I'll probably roll with that unless I have any problems. It'll be out of an LMT upper if that makes a difference.

Mk12, 2 suppressed rifles, Crye JPC, NVG, and what looks to be ostrich sound cowboy boots.  Baller achieved.

I've promised myself that NVGs are my next purchase for sure now.

I recently dropped a ton finishing off some optics and accessories needed to complete a few rigs.

I literally have zero logical reason to purchase another AR platform rifle or upper for the foreseeable future as well.

That has pretty much eliminated any reason to stray from the NVG course now.

I'd love NVG but  WI's laws about as grey as can be about NVG rifles being used at night and the possibility of them being used for hunting.  The laws for night hunting were written in the 70s and never updated.

NVG is fun as hell. I wish I had more reason to own them, but in Florida it was just too hard to find a place to get out and use them. Texas was ideal for them.

::shrug::

No guesses/not gonna guess who he might be, but "one thing is not like the others..."

Unpainted, uncovered ACH/MICH - looks like USGI four point assembly - everyone else seems to be using Ops Core suspension, regardless of lid type.

The stated AN/PEQ-16B and SU-231A/G.33 versus SU-231.

KAC RAS/RIS without an M320.

One way or another, seems like kind of an "odd man out."

Me either, but that pic in question really does appear to have a black MK18 RIS II.

The lighting is really poor, but the more I analyze it, the more it does actually look black.

I personally don't know much about it but my GF said that the ACUs are trash and she had a strong preference for the woodland BDUs haha

ETA:  she was talking about material/quality.... not necessarily the pattern.  I don't know if i'd want it in a desert/sandy environment like that but i guess when you got skills you got skills regardless of uni

Mine is a couple of years old, but really dark as well; black rail ladders almost disappear while tans really stand out.  It was so dark I toyed with the idea of making it a black gun (adding black accessories) rather than cloning my CQBR, it's original mission.

Multicam, yes. Woodland..no. I guess if it got really..reeeeeally faded, maybe... I remember when Woodland came out back around 1980. Most of us then wore ERDLs. The Woodlands then soon earned the rep(compared to previous BDUs) for being hot(thicker 60/40 blend), as well as thought of as a less effective pattern over the older somewhat smaller patterned slant-pocket Vetnam ERDL 100% cotton ripstop camos of the previous era. So much so, that the more elite units in the early 80s that had the clout to do so, went back to the ERDLs when it was possible/available. I still have 2 old worn sets of the ERDLs stashed away that I wore thru some recon/commando schools back thru the 80s.

ERDL.

Carry on.
