Now that you've gone and done it, I'm curious how it's going to wear; if you're carrying it slung much, I'm kinda afraid you're gonna have bare metal showing on the edges before too long. | Alright gents I need some photographic help. I’ve got a mk18 Mod 0 UID label coming from Carolina Laserworks, but I have yet to find a picture of one in the wild with this style of label. Most of the ones I’ve found are either engraved with the Crane info, have a paint pen rack number or have nothing at all on the starboard side of the magwell. |

Braved the heat yesterday and got in some good shooting. It actually wasn't all that unpleasant despite being well over 100; a nice breeze most of the time. Got a chance to test the two Esstac KYWI shorties I got in the other day and they worked great.
These big fuckers were everywhere. Probably a sign of the end times, with plagues of green grasshoppers of doom swarming us :\. 
From a couple of weeks ago, but figured I might as well throw them in.

Also nothing wrong with consumers avoiding companies like SAW that are charging far more than anyone else and advising others to do the same. Nothing wrong with pointing out when a company like Charlie's has a track record of high prices as well as unethical practices (misrepresenting products, terrible customer service, broken promises, etc.). Not sure why this is needing further discussion and clarification, lol. When did it became controversial to point out companies you're better off avoiding? As far as the RIS IIs I bought, suffice to say the one I sold was at fair market value. |

I'd think the M300V should definitely be lighter. ETA: Come to think of it, those weights might not be 100% accurate - I don't recall if I weighed with a sling and I'm guessing you did. Also, the RC was lighter when I weighed it with the M300C and an ounce or two heavier with carbon when I weighed it with the M600DF - might not be as much extra weight from the M600 as I thought. I'll weigh both the Block IIs later and see what I get with the sling. |

Speaking of Aeroshell 33MS, I assembled as much as I could this morning as I have a pair of Mk12 gas block set screws en route and I need a couple of shims for the M4QD flash hider in order to button everything up. If anyone can spare a 2-notch shim (0.015" thick) and a 5-notch shim (0.009" thick), I'd be happy to send you some funds to cover them. I don't need a full kit as I have leftovers I've accumulated and at $17.95 for a full kit, I'd rather not if I can avoid it.
My NT4 is pending (211 days in). Beyond that, here's what I plan on getting to finish this build out... + Knight's Armament Co. legacy front folding sight, taupe + EOTech EXPS3-0, tan + WMX200, bronze (some day); in the meantime, that Insight dual pad isn't powering anything

My Daniel Defense Mk12 gas block set screws arrive tomorrow; thanks for the tip, @Kalmar I wanted to validate a few things before I install my Coronet Mk12 gas block on my DD 10.3" barrel. First, the barrel is dimpled for set screws. I've test fit the gas block on the barrel and it sits flush against the step on the barrel and the set screw holes line up perfectly with the dimples. I do not have an inch-lbs. torque wrench, so is it okay to hand-tighten the set screws using the short end of a standard allen wrench and go by feelz?
Lastly, I reviewed some online instructions for installing the Badger Ordnance Mk12 gas block and it was advised to use #262 red Loctite on the set screws. I'll need to pick some up from Lowe's or similar. Any variances to consider on the above, or good to go? Thanks. Pic thread:
