Okay, saw the cage code (can’t remember the number).  I’ll post a pic later.  Didn’t check for the manufacturing date.  First Colt barrel so just want to make sure it’s GTG.

The 212 is an older, legacy model. BTDT can. The RC2 is their newer design. I'm sure someone at SF marketing would say the RC2 is their improved version with all new this or that.( speculation) I've shot both. I think they are solid cans. If I could get a deal on a 212 then I'd pick it up. If I could get a deal on an RC2, I'd pick it up. Also you have to think about which flash hiders you have already or how many you have to buy. IMO, you'll find RC2 capable hiders easier then the 212.

Good(ish) depending on condition. Is it FA? round count? How fast do you want it? All factors. I picked up a used one for $115. It was older and just what I wanted. I'd say range is $110 to $150 with all the above factors playing a role...

I think that looks like a FA carrier from the pic but not 100. Also if it matters to you, you may ask if the carrier is "C" marked. opposite side of the carrier from the pic.

I'd probably pay that for one if I needed it..

I messaged him asking for "C' marking pictures and if it's full auto. I'll snag it if its marked and FA.

So if you care about that then don't buy it. If you don't care about that then buy it. If its Colt then it doesn't change the quality with or without the C marking.

There better be a pic post in the near future of a 10.3" stick....lol....

the last batch was marked that way. along with typical colt dripping oil.

this batch comes dry and i believe with cage code markings.

colt is consistent on one thing and one thing only - inconsistency.

So, no more “C” stamped on the barrel, right?  Also, should there be a manufacturing date on it?  Lastly, everyone else’s I’ve seen was drenched in lube, but this one seems pretty dry...Normal?

Excited to get this thing on my Colt Upper!

Should have the cage code on the barrel and the manufacturing date on the gas block shoulder. Mine was fairly dry.

Contrary to what you read about the 553's, I sent one back to Eotech in December for warranty repairs/reticle fade. S/N Starts with an A on the later 533's hence the no SU-231 markings. Civilian sold 553's all had 7xx,xxx s/n's. It came back recharged with nitrogen and just as bright as a new exps 3-0.

All,

Many of the original photos in this thread are no longer accessible.  I would like to see some closeup images of the left and right side of the lower receivers of actual Mk 18, Mod 0, Block 1, and Block 2.  I can find good images of the Mod 0, but the others are more challenging.

Also, are there vendors that you have used to clone the lowers?

Thanks!

99% will just be a Colt M4A1 lower for all the above blocks.  Some of the earlier Mk18 Mod 0 used M16A1 lowers.

@Combat_Diver,

Thanks for the pics! Some questions:

Is the Crane Mk18 Mod 0 right side stencil found on both the M16A1 and M4A1 lowers or just the M16A1?

Is there any correlation between the Cage code or part number to any of Mod 0, Block 1 or Block 2?

Thanks !

@ Multi-Tool
Of the Mk18 Mod 0 stencil, I've only seen that on M16A1 receivers.  All Mk18 Mod 1s that I've seen the SEALs have, had the M4A1 crossed out and NAVY 18-1 engraved below.  Again these are Navy BLK II receivers.  The Army still counts the gun as a M4A1 URG.  Where 14.5" and 10.3" receivers are the same.  MARSOC refers a BLK II as RIS when I was talking to their weapons sergeants last week.

I would say 110 is a good deal. 120-125 an ok deal. Anything above that, I just can't get to good deal on.

That project is actually on medium span hold. RMR Glock shenanigans followed by 10mm Glock shenanigans are taking lead priority.
