Midwest Industries is always innovating and improving weapons to make them a better tool for the tasks we use them for.
While we have always been conscious of weight, we have also always been very careful to never compromise strength or features. We know our handguards are used on rifles that very well may go into harms way. We take this responsibly very seriously and want our customers to have complete faith in their MI products. That being said we are proud to bring you the first in a new line of AR-15/ M16 products. The Midwest Industries Combat Rail Handguards. These new handguards use our patented 4140 heat treated torque plate and barrel nut and are made of 6061 aluminum with a type 3 hard coat anodized finish. This handguard has a MIL-Standard 1913 Picatinny top rail, two anti-rotation QD sling sockets, and seven sides of M-LOK slots. With the new installation hardware these handguards are one of the easiest to install and will not pull off or rotate even under extreme conditions. These handguards install without requiring the heating of any parts, timing of the barrel nut, shims or special fasteners, and without the use of any Loctite or other adhesives. This new handguard will be available in seven popular lengths, all with an inside diameter of 1.3” and an outside diameter of 1.5”. Actual lengths and weights are listed below. All weights include the steel barrel nut and all hardware. A titanium barrel nut and hardware are available for those looking to cut weight. One five slot polymer M-LOK rail section is included with each handguard. Like everything we make this handguard is 100% made in the USA and is backed by our Lifetime Warranty. https://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/category-s/518.htm 7" handguard weighs 6.8 oz 9.25” handguard weighs 8 oz 9.5” handguard weighs 8.3 oz 10.5” handguard weighs 8.7 oz 12.625” handguard weighs 9.9 oz 14” handguard weighs 10.8 oz 15” handguard weighs 11.4 oz |

A mating of the SP and G3 to make the best, easiest handguard yet to install. No adhesive eh? What will some people have to bitch about? Oh well, I’m sure they’ll find something.
Great job! |

Looks great. Curious about the posted weights. Is that just the handguard itself, or does that include the barrel nut, pin and bolts?

Oh wow.. Those look pretty nice! I assume the same inner dimensions as the Gen3 rails. I have one of those on a 6.8 carbine....rock solid and light weight. Two things I wasn't too crazy about was the slight gap between the HG and the receiver, and the anti-rotation bracket looking like it was an afterthought.

I am impressed, those handguards look really well thought out.

I have a bunch of G3 rails already and they are my favorites by far.
Any plan to offer these new rails in a "Light" version, minus most of the picatinny top rail similar to past model offerings? Thanks for such a great product at great prices! |

Is it the same barrel nut as the Midwest Industries G3? Or would I have to pull off barrel nut to install this?
Thanks |

These look great. Really have been please with my G3 but this appears to be a better option now. Good improvements. Great to read there will be an ultra-light option also.
Two ?s 1) Will the Superlative Arms .875 clamp-on DI adj. gas block fit inside these? 2) Will these Combat rails fit on the Aero M4E1 upper? |

I'm a big fan of your G3 series, and these look nice as well. I'll probably give one a try, although I do have one bit of constructive criticism.
I wish they had the L & R QD's on the end of the rail. The lack of them seems like a step back IMHO. |

Any plans to offer these for AR10/LR308 rifles? DPMS High pattern to match Aero M5 receivers?

Got one of these for my main rifle. Love it. Install was ridiculously easy. Handguard looks and functions great. Knocked this one out of the ballpark guys.

For anyone curious, these Combat rails DO fit on the Aero M4E1 threaded uppers. Mated them up yesterday - perfect match.

MI, what's the new Ultra Light Weight model that has the longer oval cutouts at the 2, 5, 7 and 10 o'clock positions (not mlok)?

From calling y'all last week I was told there were going to be two new different models in the Light-weight line. One with Mlok on all sides with an interrupted rail at 12. Then another light-weight with a continuous rail at 12 but with long ovals at 2, 5, 7, 10 and Mlok at just 3, 6, 9. Both come with Ti hardware. Can you please confirm?
