@DCRV

If you’re interested (since you just bought one), there’s some recent info I learned regarding cloning with lowers marked specifically ‘M4 CARBINE’ here:

Cloning w/M4 CARBINE marked lowers

Of course as wally05 mentioned on the last page, it’s a Colt… sooo…

doubt you’ll take much heat for using it for a block II build (I would)

Also, regarding the post I quoted above, I believe the correct part number for an M4 CARBINE would be: PART# 9390000

The M4A1 CARBINE part number (correct for SOPMOD Block II) is: PART# 12972700

(both rifles above have Colt uppers on PSA GOVT marked lowers, hence the matching cage #s)

Below is an M4A1 CARBINE square UID (on one of my old RRA non-clone-correct lowers, hence the weird cage #):

I should mention the two part numbers I listed in this post and the one above are for Colt. I may be wrong, but I believe the part numbers may vary from other manufacturers like FN, etc.

I wasn’t too sure. The 1000+ hour tarkov player in me was telling me rk-6. That’s definitely an interesting grip on a us mil gun. That’s probably going to be a bitch to get now.

I do need to hit the aimpoint but wouldn’t painting FDE over an anodized aluminum handguard in FDE be silly?

Definitely recommend it.  Just painted the rail to match the rest of the gun on my MK18, and it looks infinitely better.  Can check it out in the cqbr thread.

Did crane work on the block IIs? Would it be clone correct to build one from a crane colt receiver? Or were those just used on MK18s?

I have a KAC ‘USMC’ marked 200-600m rear sight that I’m thinking of putting on one of my block II FSB builds. Kosher or no-go?

Crane being Navy, did them for SEALs.  Never seen a Mk18 Mod 0 (Crane with anchor) receiver reused as a Mk 18 Mod 1 (which is a Block II)  At this point they just used Colt M4A1 Carbine receivers with that lined out and added "NAVY 18-1"  If posted that numberous times here and Mk18 thread.

MARSOC to my knowledge didn't purchase the DD M4A1 RIS II with FSB.  Only SF used that.  So it would be wrong from a pure clone route.  But its your gun.

Thanks CD. I’ll just keep the Matech I have on the block II FSB and use the USMC KAC on an MWS build or on my M16A4.

Not CD, but....

MARSOC has the standard M4A1 SOPMOD Block II setup, non-FSP. All the BUIS are USMC-marked KAC micro 600m rear and black or taupe 99051 fronts.
