SOCOM uses USGI barrels which call for the cuts. What Colt offers to the civilian market is anyones guess to why.

Awesome. I’m bored with my MK12 and I can’t commit to buying an AEM5.. Debating selling my MK12 Mod1 and building a M4A1 recce.

I already have a Colt M4 complete lower, NF 2.5-10, ATPIAL-C, SOCOM can etc..

So far I've just settled on a black mount that should be coming straight from Armament Tech, just waiting to hear back from them on confirmation.

The sun definitely plays a role but my Elcan is more of a chocolate brown/broze shade that the older gens are sometimes known for (see below). And thanks!

I’m sure they will be parted out like the previous socom releases but as of now they are available only as complete rifles.

Colt done effed up on this batch.

The thing that sucks is that they added a UID engraving to the left side of the mag well and only roll marked part of the lower. The other part is engraved. Just doesn't look right.
