Thank God for makeovers.
If done at the right time, acetone/aircraft stripper may fix both issues.

Thanks. The upper is an original Colt with proper barrel date, and the lower is a Colt 6721 from 1995. The extension nut should be different, but not worth busting the Colt factory stake job
over.

It's CA here; it's that way OR I had to go featureless.

Keep in mind that I have AR15's almost exclusively for their looks - some 15 of them between various eras (A1's, A2's, clones of sorts).

It's just the wrong state for me; hopefully not forever!

I weighed my issued M4 that I took to Iraq-

M4
RAS
M68 (M4 variant)
PEQ2
M203
PSQ18 (IR aimer for 203)
30 rd mag
It was 15 pounds.

Thats the same as the "board question" weight of the SAW.

So this is my take on a block 1.5. Definitely not correct, but I wanted a Block 1.5 “inspired” AR with modern/improved accessories.

BCM Socom 14.5” upper, BCM lower, BCM Mod3 grip, B5 Sopmod stock, LaRue straight bow MBT-2, BCM FDE BCG, KAC RAS rail, GripPod GPS02 vertical grip, SureFire 600df, and Aimpoint Comp M4s with the LaRue absolute cowitness quick release mount. I’m just lacking a BUIS (going to go with the Troy Dioptic BUIS) and will probably go with a different muzzle device (probably the Precision Armament M4-72). Also need to pick up a sling for it.

Now it's time to beat the hell out of this thing.

This ain't a block one but you need this one to go there (i.e., bragging about the beauty of this simplicity and lightness)

Aside from that stock it looks beautiful.
Question...is there a reason to use flickr even when you have a membership?

(thanks) re: flickr for me, yes: I really love collecting these and often, once pictures are taken they go back to the safe and/or I may change its configuration; hence for me it is good to have them pronto when maybe in the future I want to go back to it etc.

flickr's so cheap anyways - I think it's 24USD per year, I've had it for probably 15 years now can't even remember

ETA say for example you click on your flickr collection it gives you right away a great bird's eye view:
