How are those reflex sights? Are they bright? They look pretty tough. I've been looking at them for a while. |

It's bright enough, and the reticle gets brighter when supplemented by ambient light coming in the front. The thing is, the sight itself seems to absorb a certain amount of target brightness making the target area look darker, and when in a darker area looking toward a light-colored target the reticle can become washed out. I have the polarizer and the Killflash diffuser for it, but they cut down on the amount of light passing through the sight even more, so I don't use them. I will admit that the sight works much better mounted on the receiver rather than where it is in the photo. Target acquisition is fast, and under the right conditions the sight is pretty decent, but I don't find it suitable for the above-mentioned reasons. I like the reticle, and I intend to keep this optic, but I am looking toward getting an Eotech at this point, having already tried one on someone else's weapon. I was pleased with the Eotech's ability to change brightness. If Trijicon made a battery-powered version of this sight I'd probably buy one. This is the base for my first M16A4 Clone Build. It's nothing special right now - just a Bushmaster XM15E2S with a 1 in 7" twist gov profile barrel.

| try a 3pt sling before you buy....I thought I'd like one, turned out I hated it. Felt like I was wrestling a damn octopus with all the webbing around me. Went back to the tried and true 2 pt sing. I even made one that was based on the Rocky Mountain Tactical sing so I can have a 1pt if I want it or a 2pt, though I quickly realized that I never used it in 1pt mode since it hit me in the balls when moving around with the rifle slung and the muzzle flopped around to much. |
My full sized rifle. I figured it was time to put something besides a m4 togather. I took a post ban Bushmaster I got at a show and sold the post ban barrel and semi BCG and ordered a chrome lined Bushy 1/7 govt barrel and added a LMT m16 BCG and replaced that plastic trigger guard with a CMT one. It turned out to be very accurate. One inch at 100 yards with my LC m855. Same with my reloaded m855 pulled bullets. |

Might as well put mine on. CMMG lower with a Cav arms A1 stock that has a A2 plate and MAID grip. Rock River upper that came from Cardinal forge. FNMI A4 barrel, FN bolt and FN bolt carrier. MATECH BUIS, Aimpoint ML2 on a LaRue mount and Aimpoint 3X on LaRue mount. Knights M5 system. Rock solid build and likes to put rounds in the same hole.

Brings back memories. I carried one of these in basic. Now I want to build one. I already have a Stag lower complete, and I'm ordering a Stag 20" upper w/ carry handle soon. Now I just need to find an M5 RAS. Anybody know where I can get one at military discount? What are the plastic pieces for on the rail system just rearward of the FSB? |
You can get a crazy discount on the EE. They pop up all the time and go for around the mid to upper 100's. Not a bad price at all compared to retail... |

3 point, spectre gear brand I think. Was issued it about a year ago. |

Will the 3X clear the Matech when mounted? I'm contemplating adding a magnifier to my setup. |
hehe, the classic "patrol/field sling". I always took that one step further and used a wider machinegun sling for max comfort.
