What would be the typical mount used with an M68 CCO? Army specific please. TIA. |

| In 2006 Cavalry Scout OSUT we had M16A4s with carry handles (the 19K tankers had M4s, but Scouts still had rifles). My first unit also had M16A4s with a mix of ACOGs and Aimpoints (Comp M2 in the factory QRP mount). We got brand new M4s shortly afterwards. By the time I got to Iraq in 2011 the M16 (of any variety) was the mark of a rear echelon finance/supply/support troop and they rarely if ever had optics mounted on their muskets. |

The ratchet knob QRP I think it was called. The BCT I was in had the M16A4 just over a year or a little more….late 2003-2005 and they were gone after return from Iraq in 2005 never saw another. All M4 after that and M16A2s seen in the BSB (brigade support battalion). I figured we gave them to the Marines as that was pretty much all they seemed to use for a long time. |

The same optic configuration was used by the NCOs at headquarters battalion while the rest of the M16A4s were all irons. |

 There are two versions of this mount. One is flat at the base like the one in this pic, the other has a slight slope that was intended to prevent cracking. They are both referred to as the QRP or Rail Grabber mount I think, just two different periods of production. |
