Will swap barrels soon, this is my xm177e2 barrel. I liked the way it turned out. I still have to Clip the inside edge of the forward assist like the factory did. The lower was supposed to look similar to an earlier small front lug lower. Grip will change soon...

Why change anything? What you have is a nice late 733. I would leave it as is.

I concur, leave it as is.  That's a nice carbine.

I’m building so many 10”-11.5” guns - 3 on the bench now including a 733 - I’m waiting the grey lower to match my grey A1E1 / C7 upper.

Who knows how it will end up. I will probably just use another 11.5” barrel on this one. I may use the 14.5” on the other gun.

Regardless I wanted to share it. I thought it turned out ok.

An A2 profile 11.5" barrel would be perfect for this one. That is what the late 733 carbines had. That is the route I went.

Beautiful OP!!! I built an 11.5” myself but with the flattop and carry handle. I’m debating on sealing upper for an A2, cleaner and I won’t put a red dot on it so

Where would I find a barrel like that, in a 1:7 twist? My wife has a nice 16" A2 and I'd like to switch it to an 11.5".

I ordered mine from ADCO Firearms a few years ago. It is a Daniel Defense and I had them install an A2 FSB, endcap, barrel nut, and Delta ring assembly. They still carry the Daniel Defense 11.5" barrels. They show that it is out of stock right now. They do have the FSB version in stock, but the picture shows that the FSB does not have the sling swivel or bayonet lug. You can contact them to check on this and see what they can do for you. Steve, is a pretty good guy to deal with. 419-882-8079

Please leave it!!  I love that barrel profile.  I have the A2 profile 11.5” and I would much prefer what you’ve got there.  Love it!

You keep saying this but I’ve never seen them documented. Even 933s came with .625” barrels until just a year or two ago. Do you have any photos of factory 733s with A2 profile barrels?

I’m not doubting you but it would be nice to see something conclusive.

Does it matter what FSB is used with the 11.5" barrel "F marked" or A2?

Thanks
Rob

Yeah, leave that one alone and build another. To my eye that one is perfect as is.

OP,

What lower is that on your build?  And you mention grey lowers in a follow on post. What’s your source for those?  I’m trying to match up an early FK A2 upper for a service rifle clone and am definitely interested.

That’s an awesome build BTW!!!
