Swarovski Cobra scope to use on my retro reproduction Stoner 63 scope mount project. For those not familiar with them, its a 1.5X scope with a circle dot reticle (aka the doughnut of death) that is also used in military AUGs of the same era.

Tried getting image of reticle and failed.

1.5x . Better than no magnification?

Just the thinking of the day. Before the red dot craze went into effect.

Neat scope!

A handful were used for the Colt M16A2E1 ‘enhanced’ project with special mounts as well that many dont know about.

very nifty scope, the LGS in of all places Culver City CA, had several of them NOS in the case for $450 around about 2010-ish
I ended up getting a non-stanag version with the 'doughnut of death' reticle. Ended up selling it. Of course, now I wish I kept it!!

yeah I had 2 of them back in the 90s. One was a STANAG and the other the C1 tube version. I used the STANAG on a HK mount with my MP5 machine gun before I sold it. I sold both scopes off at some point to fund something at the time.

I think he was asking about the LGS in Culver City CA referred to in a previous post.

Yes exactly. Used to live in Santa Monica before moving to a free state. Back then they would have some unique stuff in the non firearm sections. Bought my first gun there in the early 80’s, a ruger 10/22. Worked all summer to get it. Still have it :)

Kind of neat, would like to see more of these types of scopes made in modern times verses ones that weight a ton, size of sewer pipes and have turrets the size of car tires.

Is this prior to Colt's ACR entry?

A similar scope to the Cobra is the Hensoldt BLITZ. It has the donut reticle with Tritium illumination, and the same 4x magnification as the ZF scopes. I've heard it was a candidate for the ACR so I suppose they were competing?

Yep, exactly. The collapsible stock from the M16A2E1 would end up being used for Colt's ACR entry too.

They show up on GB sometimes. I mentioned to a friend that I had missed one on GB and he said he had one that he would sell to me. Lucky timing.
