Thanks. My camera sucks. It's a Eagle lower and was an Armalite 20" upper. Now it's a 17" upper. I had to open up the gas port to around .99. I'm still playing around with the muzzle break. It's held on with set screw for now but when I get a design that I like I'll thread it on. I'd like to get a scope but the reflex is fun to shoot with but it's not a tack driver. |

You are one lucky... That rifle is in excellent shape! Interesting looking lower.. Is it really in state as it left factory? Buddy of mine has exactly like yours but his rifle has unaltered magwell. Finnish Army ordered Artillerie Inrichtingen AR10s in 7.62 X 39 to their trials in Sixties . Could this be one of those models? This just crossed my mind because AR47 has similar "magwell" to accept AK magazines.. MN |

Yes, it is in the state it left the factory in -- the original finish is present on bits of the magazine well which would otherwise have been cut. I have seen pictures of Armalites with that receiver configuration, although never with the Portuguese upper. It is also definitely in 7.62 x 51, and not 7.62 x 39. Interestingly, having shot it, I find that with Magtech ammunition I have to have the gas regulator on the middle setting. Out of five shots, the best 4 are within one minute of angle, the fifth being out of the group due to me. This is at 50 m. |

 factory Ar-10(T) carbine buffer / stock Leupold MK4 optic on the LR upper Acog on the Carbine upper GG&G quick release sling mounts. 40 or 50 mags, i forget how many. It's a huge box. was $1500 a good price for all that with optics? -Luke j/k.. it was well over $1500. |

The 'factory' AR10(T) didnt come with a quad rail handguard. They come with a Straight fiberglass tube, the quadrail comes on the Ultra mags, or can be ordered seperate. Whats the deal with the mixed furniture on the carbine? Green handguards with a black buttstock? Just curious. but for the price you got a pretty nice setup, especially with those optics. |

I was joking about what I spent. The deal was pretty good though. It came w/ the straight tube but I swapped that out for the quad so I could put the QD sling mount on it. Also swapped out the FSB on the carbine upper for the quad rail so I could put the QD sling on that as well. Never been too concerned with color matching, the whole thing will get spray painted once I get back to the US anyway. The Ergo grip will get scrapped for a green or black Hogue. Had an A2 upper (complete) as well but traded that for some surefire gear. -L |

It's a work in progress but I have enough done now to feel it's worthy of posting a picture. My next purchase is going to be either an aimpoint or a maginified optics with EER. Updates on my AR10s. These are the 2 pics I had submitted before:   Well, I now have a lower for the 10T carbine upper and I just free floated the barrel on the 10A4. I just did it on Saturday so I have yet to take it to the range in this config. I will say that in the old config and using the Super Sniper scope, I was shooting less than MOA, so we shall see what happens. I used the Eagle Arms aluminum tube instead of the ArmaLite black fiberglass tube. I got both and compared. The weight difference is negligible and I really like the looks of the Eagle one more. The 10T carbine already had the tube so I am leaving it as is. |

The slings are CQB. According to the Spectre (formerly CQB) website, you can adapt them for lefties. See here: www.spectergear.com/fa_conversion.htm However, Quantico Arms website shows seperate right hand and left hand slings, so I am not sure. That camo is furniture from ArmaLite. If you look up at the earlier pics, it was an evil black. I do have an extra set of furniture for a midlength if you happen to have one of those.That many toys??? That ain't even a fourth of what I have.  What part of Georgia are you in? |

Thanks for the link to that sight. I'm placing an order for one tomorrow. I will let you know how it works for a lefty. I live up in north GA near Amicalola State Park. Living out in the sticks is the reason I have a weapons light. I had a few encounter with bears. It gets dark when you get out of range of the floodlights. I would never shoot one unless I absolutly had to, and I always keep my garbage locked up Unlike one of my neighbors. Anyway, now that I'm getting that sling my next toy needs to be a scope. That airsoft red dot scope I have on there now is only temporary. I just can't decide between an Aimpiont or a EER riffle scope. Got any opinions? |

Mostly deer hunting and personal defense. I don't know if you've ever been hunting in the woods up in north GA, but you probably won't have a shot over 150 yrds. I like to have the range of about 300 yrds. But still be able to engage up close and quick. That is why I'm trying out the "scout" riffle. |

| Sweet scopes! I was thinking a little less power. Maybe a 3X-6X power. I would not want to crawl into laurel thicket after a wouned deer and then come nose to nose with a momma bear and have a large powered scope. Or do you think a larger power scope wouldn't affect a close range shot. I really don't know sh@# about optics always been an iron sights kinda guy. So you prefer a "traditional" scope over an Aimpiont 3X? |
3x scopes have their uses for sure and variables have gotten a lot better, I just prefer a fixed power, usually 10x for reaching out and touching something. I have 3 other scopes besides the Super Snipers that I have on other rifles. They are a brand that some would laugh at and they used to market junk, but their new scopes are actually pretty decent and will serve the purpose of most folks. They are not as good as the Super Snipers, which I personally think work just as good as a lot of other more expensive scopes. That sentiment is shared by quite a few people who aren’t scope snobs. I am talking about Leapers. Go here and see the scopes I am talking about: www.leapers.com/product%20images/optics/scp3-3124aomd-m.jpg I have one like this one on my AR10T carbine. It works well enough, has a side parallax adjustment, and finger adjustments. It is a 3-12x44. My only complaint is that it does not have target turrets. I am thinking of selling it (IM me if you are interested) to get another Super Sniper or another one like the one on my M15A4:  Here is a picture of it on the 10T carbine: I have one like this on my M15A4. This is also a 3-12x44. It has side focus as well and target turrets. It is a little bit more expensive than the first one.  I have one like this T168 on my M15A2. It works quite well. I am told by several people not affiliated with Leapers that these are being used in the sandbox with good result. Of course, some “experts” will come along and say there is no way, but who cares.  |

 One of the finest rifles I have ever owned. A new production AR-10B, with an old production factory magazine seemingly cursed by god himself. Thankfully the better new production mags should be coming out in a few months. |

Larry G, Thanks alot for the info on the scopes. I think I might want to start off on a low powered first before I move into the 10X power. I going to pick up some cheap scopes and experiment with a few. That's what clones are for. Maybe, what I need is another riiffle, One for distance and one for up close work, and that will have a bayonet. Hopefully I can convince my wife the need for 2. |

M-60 Gunner I was born in Ft Belvoir. And I've been spelling it wrong for all these years (Belvor). My dad was in the Army. I can't remember it because we moved to Ft Benning shortly after I was born. Have you every fired a M-60 and if so what's it like to shoot a fully auto .308? |
