Aero upper, psa stealth lower, toolcraft BCG, triarc track 2.0 14.5"  FDC hand guard, CMC 3.5 trigger, cloud rein light, ta33 acog in a MI quick detatch and a griffin 3 prong for my recce 5 that's now at day 164! Still have BUIS inbound. Otherwise it's done though.

Just a normal middy Bushmaster.
It came with Magpul MOE handguard and I used that diligently for 4 years.
Now I thought it was time to "spice things up" and go retro, so I changed A2 handguard by IMI.

I must say that for me the a2 handguard is a big improvement over the Magpul MOE handguard.
The oval slim shape is much more natural for me to hold rather than the trianglular MOE.

I'd lose the color fill, throw an m4 style stock on it and an A2 grip (don't even like them, but it seems more fitting). I think you're onto something though

Thanks for the feedback! I was thinking the same thing about the markings, it was more a test for myself if it can be done with nail polish.
I'm also thinking of the M4-stock.
I would also like to have a removable carry handle. Since getting a fixed carry handle upper is pretty challenging here, my only option is to buy and old Colt Sporter HBAR and get the upper from that one, but it is too much of a hassle.

But overall happy with the looks, haven't had the time to shoot it yet, but judging by from quick impression the A2-forend is not bad at all, I can get my hand around it easy plus it is pretty lightweight.

One of my all time favorite mids.  14.7 pin+weld, M4E1 upper+lower, Ballistic advantage pencil w/ FSB and rear flip-sight, Larue MBT2S trigger, B5 handguard, QD waffle stock, and magpul grip.   (I added a Sig Romeo 5 later, but no pics of it setup that way handy).  5.6lbs as pictured, 6.0lbs with the Romeo on it.   Light, short, nimble in the hands, and remarkably accurate.

Is that a complete new upper? I'm used to seeing you rocking the DD RIS II. Looks good.

Thank you, Sir.

It’s nothing special, just an altogether different rifle; one of my non-GWOT inspired ARs.

lil’ bit of everything on this one:

•PSA premium complete upper w/FN CHF 14.7” p/w mid-length barrel w/Geissele low-pro gas block & A2 flash hider.
•Troy (yes, the infamous Troy) HK style BUIS
• BCM BCG
• GI CH w/S.I. extended latch
• Geissele MK14 13.5” rail
• Magpul bipod and rail plastic
• Spike’s Tactical ST-15 ‘Old School’ (minimalist) lower w/o any corny roll marks
• CMMG LPK
• POF USA hotdog ambi safety
• Magpul enhanced aluminum trigger guard, QD end plate & B.A.D. bolt release lever
• LaRue MBT-2S trigger
• B5 FDE SOPMOD stock
• Colt taupe A2 grip

A simple BCM BFH 16" mid upper on an M4E1 lower. Runs really nice with the RC2 on the end.

I figured I should get a BCM lower to match my BCM upper

Light may get swapped if IWC ever starts selling stuff again and I can snag an SMC to run a legacy Scout.

BUMP!

Just finished this build.  I like to think of it as the “AR15-A5.”
Materials list:
Aero slick upper.  Larue LAT handguard.  Magpul Mlok rail covers.  Surefire M300 on SF mount.  BFG sling.  Criterion chrome-lined 16” pencil barrel with FSB pinned by RAW.  A2 FH.  Daniel Defense fixed rear sight.  Microbest chrome BCG.  Aimpoint Duty RDS on Scalarworks mount.  JP Enterprises silent captured spring.  Radian charging handle.  KP15 lower with Larue MBT trigger.  Might eventually add a magnifier.
Weight without mag (but otherwise exactly as pictured) is 7 pounds even.  For comparison, my Colt 6720 with factory furniture, but with the same sling, light, and optic is 6 pounds, 15 ounces. Basically the KP15+slick upper weight savings allowed me to trade up to a stout free-float HG for a 1oz weight penalty.  And the Larue is not even the lightest available, but at the time it was by far the cheapest at $90.  The weight would probably be in favor of this build over the 6720 if I used a standard spring&buffer, as the JPSCS adds a couple of ounces net.  I’m very happy with it so far.  Need to go shooting next week!

1)How's the lockup on that bayonet?
2) Is that a 14.5 mid length barrel?
3)what flash hiders work that hsve suppressor mounts but also allow the use of a bayonet?
