I know it's not "retro" retro, but is there a chance we could see midlength A1 style uppers with pencil barrels?
Because that would be pretty cool. |

The talk about an XM16E1 got me thinking about chrome bolt carriers, any chance there will be some of those in the future?

There are other sources for retro receivers with roll markings, but you’re paying a serious premium price for that luxury and a serious wait times on top of that. I have ZERO doubts that these will be top selling items and in great demand, especially for guys like me… I’m more than fine that my retro build will not be exactly like the M16A1 I was issued in the Army back in 1980. Hell, I’m even going to have the Lower and Upper receivers, along with the Barrel assemblies Cerakoted!! If my retro build “looks” like a M16A1, at arms length, I’m good!! Plus, these laser engravings look better than the ones done on the original NDS retro AR receivers, IMHO. Yes, I too would like roll marked over laser engraved receivers, but times are changing in the mass manufacturing field. |

@mike_nds
Congrats on joining JJE! After watching some of the SHOT Show coverage, I have a quick question; Would I be able to purchase a 10/22 type receiver with the rear sight, one-piece or two-piece and then add a front .920" sight to a third party barrel? If so, when would I be able to do that? Also, would that front sight work on an aluminum or carbon-tension type barrel? My goal is to build a very light-weight Appleseed type rifle for the kids. Thanks |

I’m not sure when we will have the receivers done.
The NDS-26 and NDS-23 will do what you want with a factory Ruger receiver. |

If you're going down the Mauser road, it could be cool to do a more interesting take on the Ruger Scout. Give it your NDS style sights and some kind of provision for optics mounting that doesn't involve a giant rail, and let it use a standard box mag of some kind. Maybe something that splits the difference between the Ruger GSR and... a FR7/FR8? Could be a fun path to explore. |

Mike - I know you're probably busier than hell right now, but a quick question: do you know offhand if there were any Nodak uppers in the white that didn't sell before the order cutoff date? If so, will those be available to purchase at some point?

Mike, I listened to the interview at shot and heard you say 20 inch barrels will be 1 in 12 twist. Is there any chance you will do 20 inch 1 in 7 twist? I know 1 in 12 is the correct twist for a clone, but 1 in 7 does offer some more flexibility with heavier bullets.
Thanks |

I was living under a rock for the last month, apparently. This was the greatest news I found out while at the shot show yesterday.
ETA: As much as I'm interested in a H&R m16a1, I would pony up for this too. Maybe beat PTR in getting one to the market? Bonus if it takes AR magazines like the Coharie CA53AR. https://www.forgottenweapons.com/hnr-t223-manual/ ETA2 I would also pay for a H&R T48 clone, if you guys want to get in the FAL game. |

Any idea on the MSRP for ths standard M-16 A1 clone?

Hmmm.
If I can find a "C7" upper, my current un-built NDS A1 receiver set gets broken up. The NDS lower will become a 723 carbine and the H&R lower will be the A1, win-win! Still have to get JT to mount my FSB's on my 20" pencils. |
|
|
I have a feeling that lots of rifles will get rebuilt with H&R lowers.

Definitely interested in the GX-5857 marked lower!
Will this be limited or standard release? Is there a full 607 rifle planned? |

I was content with retro builds I've done with NDS, Brownells, and McKay lowers. They'll stay as-built and I need another 20" rifle like I need a hole in the head. But I'm definitely going to find something to do with an H&R receiver set. For now I'm thinking either a Vietnamese M18 carbine that was posted awhile back, or some sort of IDF build. Also, there's always comments/requests for 1/7 twist barrels. Is there really that many guys wanting to blast 77 grainers through an iron sighted retro gun?

Disappointing that JJE doesn't want to continue with 80% lowers. It puts a real kink in completing my 601 build.
