IMI is some of my favorite ammo in 5.56 caliber. I buy it whenever I can!

Slow down daddy-o, just too much information...

should we just guess the weight? or does it make any difference?

55? 62? 69? 77? 1278,4?

1200 rounds would be the 55 or 62gr cases i am guessing.

what lot number is the key!   it all seems GTG now. maybe all the bad lots got pulled from the shelves.

I just bought three 450 round boxes of their 885 from Midway for a total of 1350 rounds.
Apparently their packaging is varied and they produce a wide variety of weights as well.
I've seen better results with their 55 than their 62 but that is quite normal, nonetheless i would like to know which it is.

For 855 that's very good, for 193 it's just pretty good and for 77 that borders on sucks.

Anyone know the bad lot numbers? I have some XM193 that flattens primers. No other pressure signs though and I know IMI has a reputation for being hot.

Just got 2400 of the 55 and 1000 of the 77.

More info. 55g M193. Lot #00267/G. Headstamp "IMI 16", with a "1" on each side. Weapon was 20" 1/12 twist, 4x16 Burris, match trigger. 100 yards from sandbags. Lake City M193 shoots very similar size groups, although the IMI was about 1/2 inch left and 1/2 inch high. Rifle shoots right at an inch with 52g handloads. Also, shot 2 mags rapid fire from 16" PSA with Eotech. 3:30 ejection pattern. All hits on steel at 25-35 yards. No function issues. Will be shooting more if it doesn't rain Wednesday.

You're welcome, Bill. I do have another 1200 rounds inbound. Got it ordered right before Midway stopped the sale. Between that and the Federal rebate .223 from PSA, I'm good on .223/5.56 blasting ammo for this year. Loading a bunch of pistol ammo now. If I didn't already have a bunch of components on hand, I'd probably just buy new factory ammo and save the brass.

Being retired and having 3 ranges on my property is keeping me busy!
