I've been at home for a couple weeks and I was going a little stir crazy. Decided to work on some back burner projects I thought y'all would be interested in.

First is a lower for the AR180/180B.

This one is a departure for me as it makes use of stainless steel and 3D printing.







This is more than a few iterations ago but it is basically the same. Main difference is a pic rail on the tail piece so I can attach my BRN-180 stock.

Second is more of a fantasy build.

607 stock on my BRN-10 Carbine.





I should be able to get them test fired tomorrow and see how they do. Along with the newest hand guard design for the mid length triangle build.



If the BRN-10 runs good I'll paint the stock to match the rest of the furniture.

I put a 607 stock on my BRN-10 Carbine as well.  Posted pics here some time ago...it fits the idea better than the later vinyl acetate stock (which looked funny on the larger BRN-10)

I obtained a pristine condition AR-180, two 4X scopes with different reticles and a ton of 60's-70's magazine articles and ads because of your website!

Great stuff. That Ar-10 carbine is awesome.

I neglected to come back with a range report. It could have gone better but that is why we test.

Middy handguards held up to the heat but shrunk when they cooled and became loose. I also discovered the hard way that the vent holes are too big.
I stuck my thumb in one by mistake and got ahold of the gas tube. Ouch.

The BRN-10 short stroked so I guess I need to try a different spring.

The Hybrid AR180 lower got off one shot and broke across the top/rear of the receiver where the recoil rod nubs fit.

Back to the drawing board.

Get rid of the thick stainless steel and use some .050" 4130 instead.



I also took the opportunity to ad the pin reinforcement to the front. It is functional as well as it looks the part. It will get welded to the front side plates.

Added a steel plate where the recoil assembly fits as well.

Dropped a few ounces so that is a bonus.





I like the 4130 better as I can park it and get the color I prefer.

I would love to make one totally out of steel plates but the dimensions are not quite cooperating.
