IMO the best way is the cloud defense method.
Not the cheapest but...

Did your light come with the picatinny "remote retaining clips" ? If so, use those.

I've used them before with no issues. The pad will slide back and forth a fraction in the clips but I never felt like it was going to come off.

I attached mine using a couple small screws into plastic rail covers.  Very sturdy.

What are you securing it to? I have a MOE handguard and use zip ties to mount it at 12:00. The only time I’ve had it break loose was from a direct hit on one of the zip ties from a UTM round. I was going to use the screws they include but the zip ties work really well.

The retaining clips that came with mine must be defective - they don't fit a single 1913 rail I have.

Where did you source the weld nuts?

Zip ties, also there are these things called ranger bands that are like thick rubber bands they are designed to tie your sling up for transport but they work well for the pressure switch task as well.

I don't have a picture but I just used two small screws into the plastic noveske hand guard covers.  Similar thin plastic covers to the picture a little above.  It was very secure.

Came across this the other day. Haven’t tried it yet, but looks like a decent possibility.

They kind of nestle into the rail.  I put them on wrong 3 times before I figured out what I was doing.
