Certain manufacturers have certain markings. Some manufacturers don't have distinct markings. The forum is full of very smart people that might have come across the same manufacturer. Pics are definitely the first step.

Well the 1/9 is obviously the twist rate.
Green Mountain uses M numbers for models, maybe check what their M8 is? |
