I picked up a surplus A1 upper from a guy several years back. It came with a RRA BCG. I picked up a NDS blem lower, NDS charging handle, A1 grip, grey mag release button, and I think possibly the trigger guard. I think the selector may have been a grey parkerized part I got as well because it does not have a tick mark. The buffer tube was an black anodized tube that a friend finding in Grey Cerakote. I treated the takedown pins and other visible parts in the LPK with naval jelly to turn them grey. The LPK was from DPMS (right after Sandy Hook, parts were scarce).  I think the C MP CHROME BORE markings on the barrel date the upper to 1974 or later.

I'd like to buy the correct parts, or at least the right color parts. Can you guys give me some pointers or things I need to improve on?

The barrel is correct for that upper receiver. The C MP CHROME BORE barrels began being used in 1974. The CH forge code 603 upper receivers were used from 1974-1982.

Here is my clone from that era.

Are the colors on the pins, FCG, BCG, and such correct? Should I start looking for replacements?

I agree. If I were to do one thing, that would try to find someone who may have an older Colt BCG. It would not be cheap. Other than that, I would say that you are good to go.

It does look good. The only thing that stands out to me is the AR-15 bolt carrier instead of full length M16 carrier. If it bugs you you could go for a vintage Colt M16A1 BCG.

That BCG seems to be machined to SP1 spec, which I've never seen RRA do. Was it a FA carrier that you had worked on and refinished? Or is there a possibility it's not RRA?

I didn't have anything done to the BCG. I'm going to go with it's not RRA...
