Did it look like that when you bought it? |

Original diameter unknown Can I use rings from a DI rifle ie BCM ? Just in case I have a new firing pin , a new extractor coming but I would like to swap the 3 piston rings as well Any help there ? Found them in Europe but no stock as usual https://www.aawee.fi/en/parts-and-accessories/haenel-cr223-gas-piston-rings-3pcs-gas-piston-rings/p/102026/#description That sucks Haenel will not answer your hails. I would call H&K or Brownells Europe and ask. Are there any European forums or boards with Haenel rifle shooters? That really sucks you cannot get spare parts. This is why I did not buy a 10" Haenel pistol when B&T imported a few. |

Regarding haenel I have one guy in Greece . He is my supplier . But if we need something asap and it's not here it can take up to 3 months to arrive from haenel As written before haenel does not speak via email or phone to civils ... The shop in Finland is out of stock and will NOT be getting haenel parts no more It's another shop shooter.ee but they dont reply to emails I have a brand new firing pin and extractor arriving today For my 3 gun National in 3 weeks I will get a new piston with rings from my dealer and after the match I will send it back I found HK 416 rings but are they the same in out inner diameter ? Fuck it I'll order and see |

Fuck it I'll order and see That really sucks how Haenel screws their consumer base. I have no idea about HK rings. I guess buy some and measure them if it’s cheap enough. I browsed through Brownells Europe last night. I cannot believe they are charging $3-4k for American made ARs (Geissele, Daniel Defense, LMT). Does the EU impose huge tariffs on our guns? Have you considered a European made AR like Schmeisser? I hope Beretta comes around with their NARP rifle and Sako’s M23. I still think the Finns are trying to decide upon DI vs short stroke AR platforms. Same with the Swedes. If you use the right lubes, DI ARs run quite well in the cold. |

Βcm recce , DD V7 pro and all decent middle to high end ARs go for 3500-4000 euros I really don't know what's going on . It must be Europe in general and not my country A eu made AR10 was the one I am waiting for now . Fron Nuova Jagger . Italian brand . 1650 euros for their ar15 and 2200 for the AR10 which is still alot but at least we can source parts Even my guy who is the main dealer and supplier for haenel for the whole country has given up The only thing that haenel is good at is email him sale targets he needs to achieve ie so many rifles per year or they will take the dealership from him .... On one hand I see excellent German engineering . On the other hand their after sales service is a nightmare Basically it's my fault . I should have had this conversation long ago and forced him to order basic parts like firing pins , extractors , gas rings etc as spare parts ... I will order the HK416 ring set and hope for the best The diameter on the gas block measures 9mm . The piston measures very close to 9mm . The rings measure close to 10mm Chat gpt said that the hk416 rings measure 12mm... |

Probably off topic but I think it's time to sell the haenel and move to a proper competition rifle I will need some guidance Option one DD V7 pro with the addition of a muzzle brake , tunable gas block , trigger , JP Lmos , JP silent spring buffer system . Cost of rifle 3000 , cost of parts close to 1500 JP SCR-11 in 14.5'' . Cost in Europe 5500-6000 euros One is a race gun , the other is a very solid platform that can be tuned into a race gun ( I think ) |

I honestly can’t convince myself that anything JP makes is worth what they are asking. $5500-6000 Euros or USD is nuts for an AR-15 DI variant. If it was 6.5 Creedmoor, shot 0.5 MOA and the barrel lasted 10,000 rounds, then I’d understand. A DDV7 Pro is basically a beefed up DD4V7 with a heavy profile 18” barrel and skinny handguard. Why the JP gas block and buffer system? It should run fine without it, but I understand you are doing ISPC type stuff (whereas I keep mine fairly mil-spec style). Schmeisser doesn’t make anything comparable for you? Or do you want a US made DI rifle? That kills me that they want $3000 Euros for a Daniel Defense 5.56 mm rifle. |

Yes schmeisser make the dynamic L in 16.75'' for competition ( or so they claim ) Weight 6.8 pounds Skeletonized bsg Match trigger 3lbs pull 20 click adjustable gas block Price 3000 euros ... Same price as the DD V7 pro ( pro does not offer light bsg or adjustable gas block ) |

I don't understand the need for an adjustable gas block if the gas port diameter on the barrel is the appropriate size for the ammo you are shooting (usually match ammo) and the gas tube length (mid-length vs rifle length). I also shutter at the thought of a "light weight" bolt carrier that could potentially harm reliability. Of course, take what I say with a grain of salt, because I consider the SCAR 17 and most AKs to recoil "lightly" ![]() Regardless, I would go with the brand where you can get parts support. It seems like Schmeissner takes care of their customers. Daniel Defense does as well, but you have to deal the trans Atlantic barrier. I am very happy with the two Daniel Defense rifles I own. Zero issues with them. |

I was thinking of going full race gun . From what I saw and read there two options 1) Buy a ready built race gun like a JP 2) Find a solid base and then use specific parts from JP or unrivaled These parts require a tunable gas system because of the lightweight bsg and spring-buffer combo https://youtube.com/shorts/cwQ-NAJmm-E?si=HY5R3-iXhcJlzSub |

The Daniel Defense Pro 18” is more like a lightened up SPR build and not a race gun. |

Guys has if ever come to your attention that correct lubrication includes the use of gun oil or gun grease on the piston gas rings traveling inside the piston gas block ? Do you know if piston operated rifles require the gas piston rings to be lubricated ? There is a haenel cr223 used on a gun range in Greece that close to 80.000 rounds stopped cycling There are no gas piston rings available right now and after using gun grease on the gas rings it started working So am I missing something ? Should I lube or grease the gas rings as well ? |

Friend of mine gave the old but reliable aimpoint comp M with the 30mm body... So can do I find a solid 1 piece mount measuring 1.93 to match my 3X with things running round the house So this is what I came up with . This is 2/3 of a 1.93 scope mount which I found horrible to use ( with an lpvo ... I believe 1.7 is the best LPVO height ) https://ibb.co/jkMH5010 https://ibb.co/MDp2h0BK |

guys have you ever seen such wear and tear on the upper receiver ejection port ? I know these rifles are way over gased but after fitting a kynshot rb5000 and a blue sprinco ejection is very close to 3 oclock getting close to 16K rounds https://ibb.co/mVvDsrwQ https://ibb.co/BKfT4gTy |

I have traditional inline gas ARs with less rounds through them that have similar wear. |
