What does everyone here use as a "gun tool box"?  I am looking at a craftsman metal three drawer type toolbox to replace the plastic one i have now and make all this CRAP I have accumulated over the last 25 years more manageable and organized.

Whaddaya got, Hive?

Clear plastic fishing tackle box. (The kind with a tray, not the bifold type.) Bottom for heavy tools, top for light tools. One box for AR tools, one for AK tools, etc.

For stationary tools that stay at my bench, many are on Pegboard, some are in a old metal Craftsman toolbox that I bought off a friend, others are in small plastics boxes they came in.

I have a large LaRue range bag that has an assortment of tools and gadgets that I sometime carry to the range, comps or wherever...

hahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahhhhahahaahahahahahahaahahaahahahahahahaahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahaahahaahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahah........

Don't you know that the amount of gun tools you have is directly related to the number of boxes/places you have in which to store them.......... and its never going to be enough!

In all seriousness though, I have a MTM Gun Maintenance box just for my cleaning specific tools. I have the Real Avid Master Armorers Toolkit. And then I have 3-4 generic Hazard Fraught type tool boxes for all my other tools. But then I'm set up to work on just about any type of guns. I would stay away from the various wooden multi drawer boxes as they don't have as much space as it would appear. Husky or Kobalt 3-4 drawer boxes should suffice, or something like them from HF or Northern Tools will serve you just as well. That being said, if you have a decent amount of tools, spend the extra coin for BALL BEARING SLIDES, and thank me later.

In 1968 I was a Freshman in HS. My first shop project was a simple wooden box for gun stuff. I'm still using it. 52 years old and American made. A Viet Nam fighter pilot Vet was our shop class instructor. Thanks Mr. Martin!!!

I have an old, 6.5x5’ shelf I use for gun stuff.
Small tools and suck are in small totes on bottom shelves.

I cleared out 1 drawer in my 20 year old Snap On tool box, my few gun tools reside there.

My entire gun bench is made of oak sink bases with drawers.  All of the top drawers are for tools and dies.  Base doors hold quick change kits, projectiles, loaded rounds, powder, etc.

Cleaning gear is in an open top carry all with a single slider.  Tall chems sit in the top with patches.  Brushes, rods, and q-tips go in the sliders.

No matter what you do, it is not enough room.
