Sure wish I could find A1 sets like that.
Ordered a couple so I don't have to wish that about A2's. |
I might have got the last set. Would not let me add two to cart.
Thanks OP! |

Dangit! Been looking for a set to replace my ovals. Just saw this. They are OOS.
Do not need any right now..But that was great deal on those..Can anyone tell if they are Colt? FN? Neither?
Dang I wish I saw this earlier, been debating taking off the KAC m5 I have on my A2 build

I did receive my two sets. Must've shipped out that next day.
Not sure where those came from but they were definitely repackaged to look like NOS. I got one set that was virtually brand new that I traded, and one set that was an older shiny finish and pretty used. All in all, for the price, they were well worth it. |

Quoted: Any body get theirs yet? I ordered on the 28th, and outside of an order confirmation and the charge, I haven't heard anything. View Quote I'd hit them up for a tracking number. Mine were shipped promptly, but have still not arrived. The tracking went dark for 8 days and then arrived in Guam. It's back in the lower 48 and about 200 miles from me. I *should* receive it tomorrow. |

I called and talked to somebody Saturday. I was the last one and they were over sold. Dude said shed have a set to me shortly. so I ordered some old school LCE suspenders for my tool belt and they're gonna put them in the same box.
Should ship this week. |

Some nice A2 guards in the EE HERE

I am still waiting on my hand guards and my LCE suspenders. Dude says he's going to get to it. But it's two months now.
Finally showed up yesterday. Dude ducked me forever. Weren't these supposed to be in CAGE marked wrappers? What I got is beat up with wrecked heat shields. I did get a set plus one, but total garbage.
The Old Grouch can get bent. |

Actually ended up going with some surplus ones from Old Arms of Idaho, hopefully they look cool bc they were a little more than the new Colt ones you listed

Heres a quick iPotato pic I snapped of the handguards. They are in great shape. Makes for a nice 711ish build by simply swapping from A1 handguards to these.

Seems to be as advertised: https://i.imgur.com/yqN1RRe.jpg https://i.imgur.com/mGgRjn2.jpg Huh, thanks for the update and pictures. Very interesting. I'm not sure how those ended up with a cage code attached to them? Has anyone ever seen this type of A2 handguard on an actual military issued A2 or A4? As far as I know it's only ever been the Colt/Windham type. Maybe FN was using these when they got the contract. But they are not cross compatible with the Colt type. |
If I'm interpreting the label correctly, these were packaged in March 2011. These "post and hole" versions do appear different than earlier ones. Too bad I can't access the drawing for that part number. I'd like to see if this is an updated/improved/alternate configuration for this handguard. Could these be commercial items in .mil packaging? I suppose it's entirely possible. They fit together snugly with no gaps or warpage so I'm happy whatever the case.
I wil say that, if these are somehow commercial items, my hat's off to whoever did the labels and packaging. Very well done label job with barcode and contract/purchase order number. |
