View Quote Thanks. I remember that thread and wish Augee hung around here more (though I know a man's gotta work). I ain't as GWOT hard like some of you dudes are, mine is more sprinkled in here and there but I've always liked the old school Armalite tubes. A can recessed underneath in some fashion is the goal but really I'm just going to have to play around and see what comes to me. |

Mine is the SR25 version but I've measured and the metal reinforcement for the front sling loop makes a recessed can impossible. Unless something is different with yours, max OD for a can is 1.32" and that's making contact with the bottom. That metal reinforcement takes away .27" of ID. |

Working on something GWOTy.
I'm going to make a couple of dedicated M203 URGs with ~12.5" barrels and M4 RASs/RISs. I've got a bit of a dilemma. If I cut the barrel at line 1, it would be aesthetic AF but I think I'll only be able to use an A2 flash suppressor on it. If I cut the barrel at line 2, I may be able to use suppressors (it might hit the the locking latch). If I cut the barrel at line 3, I should be able to use any suppressor but I think it would look kinda dumb. What do you think? I want it to look good but I also think it would be nice to be able to accommodate a suppressor even if I'm really not planning on using one. Attached File |

View Quote Looks great. I’ve been toying with building one... Did you use the Bergara 17” barrel? BA |

No, I cheated and used a faux dissy upper from PSA which had the FN CHF barrel on it.
Actually had to file down the FSB for clearance. |

Speaking of ACOGs, why has nobody made a taller mount with an integrated BUIS?

I figure in a world with 1.54", 1.70", 1.93", 2.04" mounts, surely someone would have done that for the ACOG. I'm still working on getting an ECOS! |

Took the Aimpoint off another rifle. I’ll probably try to find something smaller, maybe an Aimpoint Micro.

Any measurements would be appreciated also. This might just have to get fabbed by a machine shop if I can't find anyone who can rig it up. Might have to dismantle mine and take it in for an exact copy. Trying to avoid that if I can. |
