Gotta whore this out a bit since I picked up my can. Currently trying to decide between clone glass and a Handguard for a Mod H or clone glass and chop, pin and weld for a NSW clone.

Just put together a Block2 FSP clone. Still have some things I need. (Rear sight, surefire, laser and either a G or larue scope mount.)

I've been calling this rifle my "Stahpmod"... an assemblage of super legit and theoretically/individually clone correct parts that are a bit of a stretch. There was some creative license involved and I won't apologize.
I had a few ideas penned out to build an ugly GWOT contractor carbine-something simple, cheap, period correct, utilitarian, kinda like Kris Paranto's Bushmaster. Maybe with an aluminum free float tube, ARMS folding front sight, an old red dot or reflex sight, and covered in cheap tan spray paint, which would be heavily worn over time. I had another idea for a similar era service rifle with as many different mismatched colors of anodizing and phosphate as possible. A natural military "moonshine" rifle, if you will. By accident both concepts were combined. Through happenstance, as most of my projects start, I came into two key components on the same day that set this project in motion and largely dictated the outcome. The first was a barney purple Colt keyhole upper that a buddy traded me. The second was an ARMS SIR that I got into cheap on Tacswap. A few weeks later, Armalite did a limited run of Pegasus lowers, and I grabbed one for no particular purpose. The anno was bluish black, and I instantly knew what I was going to do with it. After some fatiguing, it turned out a worn in grey-blue that contracted with the flat grey of the ARMS handguard and the Colt purp receiver. A brown Colt buffer tube, brownish phosphated milsurp M4 barrel, green-oversprayed ARMS 23 grip from a gun show, bakelite A1... things started rounding out. I finished it off with a Trijicon RX-01, old gen Smith Vortex and milsurp N1 stock. Here's the result. I need to do up some better glam shots, but here's the tease for now. https://i.imgur.com/qmVcWz0.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/mSBkKch.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/gDpt5BV.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/q6hhlW5.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/AMuEz9D.jpeg |

Mine shoots too well to fuck with, but if I ever have to rebarrel, it's getting a socom barrel with an M4 AEM5 collar and I'll grind that puppy down |
