Hey brother, thanks for doing this, really cool.  I believe this can be done in spreadsheet form and so could be more easily updated.  Would You mind if I tried to do so?  I am the OP and I think this is a great addition to this Thread.

Awe man... this is so close in appearance to a build I am considering.  I have an AAC Cyclone lying around and was thinking about putting it on a BA 8” barrel with an MCMR 7.  I was worries the long can would look ridiculous but your build looks awesome.

How do you like the Perst laser?

[#8]
Mine is below:
BCM 16” BFH ELW rifle.

Why did I choose this?
I chose it for several reasons.  First, BCMs reputation.  They have very strict QC and HPT and MPI barrels and bolts to identify any possible weak components.  Second, I like the ELW barrel profile.  It is light and easy to maneuver.  Sure light barrels will have their groups open up after a mag of rapid shooting, but they also cool quickly.   Finally, I like hammer forged barrels.  To me it’s worth the extra money to have a barrel that may last longer.

What accessories are necessary on a SHTF rifle?
For me, a 1-4/5/6 is a must. Target ID becomes extremely important.  With a scope you can see if a person is armed or just carrying an everyday item, whereas with an aim point or Eotech, you can’t.  It also is much easier to hit someone at 200 yards (typical infantry engagement range) with magnification and a good reticle.  Along those lines, I prefer a good Mil-based reticle for easily being able to estimate
ranges.  A sling is also important, for retention of your weapon and for ease of carrying.   A good flashlight is also a must in case you are forced to work in a dark environment.  Finally, sturdy and reliable magazines.

Pics as promised! Attachment Attached File

thank you. yeah, the mystic x + adapter is long but balances well. a quick search shows the Cyclone is about the same length.

the Perst is fantastic. the illuminator is insane, tons of throw. i did burn several small holes in the diffuser shooting unsuppressed, but ivan sent a new one no questions asked. the screws to zero the illuminator are tiny, but zeroing it was easy. the green laser makes zeroing a breeze, easily visible at 50 yds in midday florida sun.

the variable power setting on the vis and ir laser are a nice feature, however the pressure switch is large and takes up a lot of rail space. on the ir illumin/ir laser setting, the variable power setting only adjusts the laser. you have to switch back to the illuminator only setting to adjust the output. i normally leave the illuminator on the lowest setting, and it's plenty powerful.

How do You like the Leaf?  Does it show up easily? I have an AR Pistol that would greatly benefit from omitting the front sight.  Been wanting to try them out.

@M-4matus I love it so far. Lines up perfectly with my sighted-in T1 but doesn't hinder my view. Saves me a lot of space. Don't have a lot of real estate on my 9.5" BCM rail.

Thanks for the reply.  I am going to buy one.  I did gain a few pic sections with this Geissele FS but the LEAF will allow me to move the D-BaL and PP forward another inch.  That will make my grip much more comfortable.

Yep, I had one of those and they are a very nice scope for the money, I'm just hooked on the Green Triangle Post Reticle though.  Word of advice, don't buy any really high end magnified optics.  Can't go back, ever.
Post a pic w/ Optics of you can.

I agree!  I remember when I bought it I wished I had bought the Spikes or LMT instead of the DPMS but now I am glad I did haha. Funny thing is I think I payed $150 for that lower back in 08. Funny how times have changed.

That's a really nicely and practically sorted rifle OP. Unity risers are life.

I'm about to scoop up a MI Mount that knocks off the Unity one to try. I've got a few Unity and would like to mess around with something else.

I have one of the MI mounts. It's not as elegant and it doesn't have the included rear iron sight (but it has a window for backup irons) , but it works and I'm getting another one for a different rifle.

I have 3 unity fast mounts. If you don't need the included iron sight, but like the height and the ability to still use irons, it's a great option, especially at about half the price of the Unity.

I prefer the traditional irons over the Unity Irons. I have 2 or 3 Unity Mounts as well and adjusting the front sucks. The rear isn't bad at all but I honestly feel why pay $150ish for a Unity when I can get new MI ones for $65.00

None of mine have the front sight installed in the mount.

I really like it on a 14.5" middy with a triangle front sight base, so I can use the red dot without any obstruction. You could do the same with the MI, of course, but the issue is if you want to use the Unity flip to center magnifier. A rear fixed or folding sight is in the way and you kind of have to choose whether you want the rear sight or the magnifier back there - or, as MI advertises, you mount the rear sight in front of the optic.

Unity's solution to that is just so sleek. If I plan to use my magnifier on the gun, I use a Unity mount with the included rear sight and a fixed or folding front sight. For a gun that won't use the magnifier, I'll use the MI mount.

Yeah, the way to do it is to use the Unity mount as a rear sight with a separate front.
