I just picked up a few boxs of this and was looking at getting some more but I couldn't find much information on the load comparing it to other 77gr offerings. I would like to know a little more before dropping alot of cash on this.
Is this the same as the FGMM just reboxed? How does it perform terminally and accuracy wise compared to M262 and other 77gr? This ammo is listed as T223M3 Federal TRU (TACTICAL URBAN RIFLE) what ever that means.... 77gr Sierra Match King My rifle: SS mid-length 13.7" 1/7 with 5.56 chamber.

I would prefer a 5.56 loading of the 77gr SMK.
I haven't chrono'd the velocity on those... but FGMM77gr SMK was quote a bit slower then IMI / CBC / Mk262 77gr SMK loads. ( Most all 223 from Fed. is quoted from a 24" barrel ) That said... you still got a good deal. Performance will have a slightly shorter range, but within normal contact ranges... you are certainly GTG. And yeah, I am a ammo whore... but these current prices have completely shutdown my ammo purchases. Last night I couldn't justify even ordering some .22LR at the going prices. |
