We know the XC line has some problems. Is the XR1 supposed to be the tough solution/X300U compact counterpart? Its supposed to be shipping soon.

I spent some time at the Surefire booth Friday at the NRA convention

I’ve been a SF customer for 25+ years and own dozens of there lights and use hem daily as a LEO

I handled the XR-1 that was on display and I’m excited to get one.

Bright as hell at 600 lumens and much more compact.

I was initially skeptical of the rechargeable battery idea but it actually makes sense.

I’ll be keeping my X300Us for full sized pistols and carbines but for a G19 concealed the XR-1 is gonna be the answer.

The switch allows for momentary and constant on as well.

Is the switch the same or similar to the x300 series?

I’m not a fan of the xc1 momentary / cross bolt style off-on switch and would like one in the smaller format with their typical switch.

X2.

Hoping this will be the concealed answer.

The switch uses the multifunction style where a quick tap is constant and a marginally longer press is momentary. Too bad, I dislike multifunction switches and really prefer the X300 system.

So they're basically copying the Olight Mini?

Don't get me wrong Id rather have the Surefire, even though I have the Olight also.

Yeah I’d prefer the x300 style but that still sounds better than what the xc1 was.

When are these going to be available?

I had the xc1-a & xc1-b and both were buggy
I would engage the momentary lever and every 10th or so time it would not go on or would seem to be half as bright...didn’t realize i wasn’t the only one

I’m a big-time SF user and love the x300 series, but I had a XC1b and it was complete garbage. The output sucked and it would drain batteries like crazy. I used lithiums, and after a couple months, the battery would be completely drained, even if I never used it.

Well that blows.  I've been waiting years for a quality light with solid mount that will fit the HK45C, & the XRx actually does.  Maybe the rechargeable cells will perform better...?

The XC1's were hit and miss, but the several samples I have work and have stayed working.    I use them more than any other pistol light for regular everyday stuff.

I'm not sold on charging batteries in the light.   I'll wait a couple of years and see how it pans out for people.

?

It's supposed to use inductive recharging.  Eliminating the battery compartment made space for the extra LED, but whether the pros outweight the cons compared to a modular battery compartment remain to be seen.  Personally, i hope it's an improvement.

Yeah id like to check one out. I guess the Streamlight TLR7 is coming out with a better switch too instead of the old side switch it had.

Honestly im kind of shocked they didnt come out with concealed carry / compact lights with their x300 switch earlier. I havent really heard anyone that likes the xc1 switch.

Surefire -use to- have great products, that continually complimented what was in their line-up.
They FUCKED UP when PK left, and it shows more and more with every new release.
Re-hash the M600U is only one worthy. Welcome the M600DF!!

Say no to the deuce.

Who was PK?

Is this a Ron Cohen thing where one retard completely ruined an entire company?  (or the lack of a good CEO resulting in the same?)
