i just picked up the recon on sunday. got it home, threw my aimpoint pro, tlr-1s, rvg, and swapped the moe stock out for a ctr. hope to shoot it soon! pmags on order from brownells.
i also have a primary arms 4-16x44 scope in a burris pepr mount i may try out. some really nice rifles in here already!  " />

I am currently assembling parts for the platform. My next purchase will be the BCG. My question is where can I find a BCG with the notches matching the forward assist? There are a lot of nice products out there but none that would make use of this feature. Granted, I'm a newb builder & I have a great gunsmith that provides sound advice but the arfcom gurus are a great source of information. I'll post pics of what I have later. For me the forward assist is not a deal breaker. Thanks in advance. |

Here is the rifle that I just finished building. It's my DPMS SASS and my first AR build. I have owned ARs in the past but never customized them or built them. It was a fun puzzle.
ok, i give up. there must be some restriction on photo size. I resized down to 500px width and it is still not showing up. |

No frills.. DPMS LR308 (ORC).. with Magpul Carbine handguard (fits 100%), CTR (for commercial tube), and MPul + grip (going bye-bye as the backstrap doesn't fit and has gap)..
Also KAC rear micro peep and MI front flip sights.. Burris PEPR QD mount and Burris 4.5-14x42 762 C4 scope inbound.. 
As it sits for now (Hogue grip w/base on order).. Its 8lbs. as empty..

Here's my DPMS LR308. Barrel, receiver, and lower are original. Has a hydraulic buffer, PRS stock, Moe MIAD pistol grip, APEX Gator Grip handguard, Timney 4.5lb trigger, Vortex 5-15 Mil Dot scope, JP Bennie Cooley muzzle break (great brake but VERY LOUD). Shoots 168gr TAP factory ammo 4 shot groups at 100yds into less than 1/2in, when I don't jerk my trigger!! The 4 shots in the red are less than 1/2" OAL. The AMAX 168gr does just as good. The groups would be better with a better trigger man!!!!!!!!
