This is a new BCM upper that’s been sitting in my safe. Unless it somehow got damaged on another gun in the safe, I think it came this way. I am not concerned with aesthetics but I do want to make sure this isn’t a concern for future cracking of the receiver or other damage.

Apparently I’m just worried too much based on other replies I’ve gotten, but I’m still uneducated on the subject of material strength and I do not understand why or why not this is not a concern for further damage.

looks like a chip from getting dropped. It's fine, nothing you wouldn't get from use.

It's a sharp corner of aluminum, hit on something hard enough and it'll dent. ZERO effect on the function of the gun. You can scratch, gouge, dent and stomp on one and you'd have a hard time damaging it beyond aesthetically. You should see the guns you get in the military lol.

Thanks for the replies. I have OCD like tendencies with matters of reliability lol. This will be my most expensive build.

From another OCD sufferer, that will absolutely not affect function, reliability, durability, or structural intergrity of the firearm, now or in the future.
