Looks like Pre-Sample Depot has their lowers in stock. Limit of 2. They are a KAC Premier Dealer/Armorer. So I wonder if the lowers are made by KAC.

if the DSA lowers were once M16 cut low shelf, they aren't any more. Picked up a DSA and it was just a standard fat-walled ar lower.

Apologies if this was already covered but I just pinned together a Griffin Armament lower today and it's M16 cut.

If you are interested in a good lightweight billet lower, JL Billet uses an M-16 cut.

Anyone know about the SLR lower? It says "Mil-Spec internal dimensions , Low Shelf" which seems contradictory. No good pictures I can find but the ones on their webpage appear like they may be m16 cut.

View Quote Yeah, but compared to what everyone else is charging, it’s not bad. Hell, PSA is charging $100 now lol at least they’ve actually stayed the same price since before the panic buying started. |

Fair enough. I wasn't clear whether or not your photo was indeed from the vendor in question.
Thanks for the clarification. |

I checked the thread pretty good to see if anyone had mentioned this company.
Armory Dynamics The site says they have several in stock. And it looks like their ar10 pattern is m16 cut as well. I don't know anything about the company or quality. |

Type-A receivers are M16 cut. Unfortunately during these times they had to stop taking stripped receiver orders as their backlog got too long. The only way as of now to acquire one is through purchasing a complete firearm.

Quoted: Out of all listed, I didn't find one like I want. I want a: *CORRECT M16 cut without material removed around right side of selector hole. *Engraved with the minimum legally permitted text and in a basic, minimally sized mil-spec style font. (Manufacturer, Model number, caliber, serial number) *Selector markings: SAFE SEMI AUTO *NO artistic rollmarks. No art whatsoever. *Basic forged receiver with plain roll pins throughout. Plain old swing down trigger guard. No screws in the bolt catch or detents, etc. View Quote There is such receiver available. You don't have to machine your own as suggested by some members here. https://strategicprecisiondefense.com/product/forged-m16-cut-ar-15-lower-receiver-type-iii-hardcoat-anodized/ I don't own one, therefore I cannot provide any information as far as machining quality, and fit precision with uppers. Yesterday I was listed backordered. Today I don't see this "backordered". I placed an order for one few minutes ago. When it arrives, if it ever arrives, (they did not e-mail order confirmation), I will check the fit with Colt stripped upper receiver. If surfaces don't match, sloppy fit, or other issues, then I will return it. |

Sorry for a side question, but will a DIAS work with a M16 receiver pocket? Does the DIAS need the extra material above the selector to remain stable during firing? Or would it wobble?

Otherwise, these are superbly machined and finished receivers. No slop whatsoever with mil-spec uppers. All holes are in-spec. If the cut over the safety detent hole was eliminated, I'd gladly pay double price for them. Below: Orchid receiver with Colt upper. Attached File Attached File Below: M16 cut lower Attached File |

Quoted: Sorry for a side question, but will a DIAS work with a M16 receiver pocket? Does the DIAS need the extra material above the selector to remain stable during firing? Or would it wobble? View Quote According to Strategic Precision Defense, the DIAS will work with their receivers. The shelf is actually is .630 deep- my measurement with depth micrometer. However, the current production receivers are not in-spec in 2 critical areas - the pivot and take-down pin cut-outs are too wide and cause the upper to wobble excessively. Specificfation calls for .500 +.000 cut width. My receiver's pivot pin cut is .517, take-down pin cut is .510. I'm trying to resolve this issue with the company. |
