Thanks Tig. I ordered from him based upon your recommendation.
The reason I mentioned hoping the BCG / CH combo deal had the "C" is he's also selling "blem" Colt BCG's. The "blem" is ... no marking. "Colt "Blem" BCG non "C" marked We got another small batch of these non C marked blem bcgs. The only thing wrong with these Colt blem bcgs is that they are not C marked. They still have the MPC marked on the top of the bolt, still chrome lined ." I wasn't sure which was included. After re-reading everything ... I think I'll be getting the "C" marked. |

Yes this is exactly what I ordered and had to call and ask if there was a mistake and I got a non C bcg. But Chris told me they are very faint and look at it under good lighting and you will see it. View Quote again as it is marked. Had to lay a flashlight down along it and shadow it some, it's there. I felt more than a little stupid. |

And, unless specifically asking for a "blem"( which really isn't), yours will be C marked. |

I've own a few colt carriers. Some of them have very shallow markings or even missing markings.
I think Colt just does whatever the heck they feel like. I seen their lowers markings very shallow or even sometimes faded like it's uneven. |

Colt has confirmed a few times that their bolt carriers will no longer be "C" marked. They went through a period where they had both available causing confusion but it looks like the "C" inventory is finally gone.
Makes it harder to resell but that's about the only difference. https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?196861-Unmarked-quot-Colt-quot-Bolt-Carrier-Assembly/page4 |

My last carrier marking was very faint. Like hold it on angle under florescent light struggling to see it faint. Works as intended...

Colt FSB are not F marked anymore ether.
Bought a new Colt upper from Midwayusa for a new build, the upper has the same cage code as the barrel with a square forge mark. The carrier does not have a c stamp but the bolt does say mpc and it does have the dot of white paint. As I have mentioned the FSB is not F marked ether. |

So...after reading the thread and Googling, it appears the final verdict on this is all new BCG's from Colt will no longer have a "C" on the carrier, but the bolt will still be marked with an "MPC", correct?
I just purchased a new 2018 "property" marked SOCOM rifle from Colt and the carrier is not marked and the bolt is faintly marked "MP". I can't find the "C" after the MP anywhere. Anyone else have this? Any chance Colt is subbing some of this out? I am not sure if it matters, but for the collector, maybe its better to swap it out with a "C" and "MPC" marked BCG? I would think a shooter could care less. Thanks! |

I've never seen a verified colt Bolt that wasn't MPC marked.
However, Colt is notorious for mis-marking or not marking something at all. |

PSA guns run neck and neck with Colt according to the facts in the Henderson Defense thread here. No purse swinging either.

[#49]
The PSA with FN CHF barrels and Tool Craft BCGs run well for Henderson Defense.
It is important to note PSA produces a variety of products. I wouldn't expect their "Freedom" line to perform as well as has been reported for the FN CHF uppers. Also, the FN barrels and Tool Craft BCG are undisputed "quality" products. It is PSA's upper assembly QC and lower parts kit component quality that most often gets called into question. |
