I bought this a couple of months ago. I have owned a 1979 SP1 carbine for 25 years, and love it. So I bought this and I am extremely pleased at how fun it is to shoot. I have added the 4x Brownells retro scope, to add to the fun. I believe that Colt (or US Ordnance) has addressed some of the early issues of the first of the War Collection series. My roll mark is deep and it has, what I believe to be most of the proper proof marks. Yes it is overpriced. But I'm old and can afford to spend the extra. They made 500 of these, so thats nice.

Looks great!
I need to get a SP1 carbine, was watching 'Sons and Lovers' on Miami Vice the other night and that was shown prominently in that episode :)

I managed to acquire one as well, and the quality is the best! The value of these will only go up.

Very nice! I’ve thought about getting the A1 and E2 reissues, all my E1’ s are rewelds. I’m glad they fixed all the issues from the previous models I just wish they’d of put the buffer tube roll pin on these E1 reissues and rounded the bolt release bosses more, other than that it’s damn near perfect!
