Very nice. Would be interesting to hear about its performance with that new barrel ...

That is just 30 higher than mine

I wonder if Colt or anyone else knows exactly how many carbines that were marked XM177E2 were actually made.  Last I heard the number was about 3,000 +/-.  Not all carbines in the 900,000 - 909,999 serial number range were marked XM177E2.

I'm envious, that would cost $40,000USD+ in the states, 2 tax stamps, and 18+ months of waiting.

Just tested it, single shot only

First five shots at 25 meters, to make sure I’m hitting the target

Attachment Attached File

Then at 50 meters, six o’clock hold, didn’t touch the sights

Right on target and functioned flawlessly

Did the XM177E2 only have the full fence lower or did they also use partial fence lowers?

I think the E2's all had full fence.

That's what I think too, but I was hoping that some may have had the partial fence (since I already have a partial fence lower lol).

Interesting, and great find on the pictures.

Makes me feel better about using an E1 lower (if I do).

That’s it, I’m moving to Switzerland.

That’s so cool!!!  I’m drooling more than my boxer ever does.

That's a purty peashooter ya got there!

Interesting sling set up too. Never seen anyone do that with an M1 sling before.

Looks like the sling would be too short for me but I'm 6' even.

This is a GLORIOUS little carbine though! Us yanks are desperately jealous!

Thank you for the pictures! It is still very exiting for me to see this treasure.

Everything is correct now I'd say.

If you can find the time after your next shootinge range day I'd love to see a picture of the buffer ...

Greetings from Germany.

My rifle is a clone it is as close as I can afford. The only original part is the pistol grip. I used a 2-quart canteen strap for my sling. I am 6'1" and the sling is plenty long with lots of adjustment.

Put that moderator in an ultrasonic cleaner.  I guarantee it is packed full of copper fouling and powder residue.  Keep your eye out for a proper period correct rigger made field sling.  It will be marked US sling, bag and case carrying, general purpose.  It's wider and made of cotton.  You cut the little steel clips off of it and sew the 550 cord loops thru the ends.  There are plenty of pics of them if you look up some MACVSOG pics.  They are pretty ingenious and allow you to carry muzzle up, at the ready, muzzle down or across the back all with out having to adjust it.  The adjusting buckle goes towards the muzzle.
