| I did a forum search but couldn’t find anything regarding the rein 3.0. I’m also looking at the arisaka defense scout light build your own options. New to the rifle weapon light market. I’m curious on the rein 3.0, I’ve found one for $275 from a good online vendor. Building out an arisaka would be $100 more give or take. Analysis paralysis has taken over looking at all the different light options. |

Skip the Arisaka for now. That's not the path to go if you're dealing with analysis paralysis. I have experience with both the Surefire and Rein options. The easiest way to pick is to determine if you want flood or distance. Flood, go Surefire. Distance, go Rein. Seriously. It's that simple! Hope that helps with the jam you're in. |

I got sick of the upgrading and changing things to get what I wanted. Chasing down problems, finding out what needs warrantied, I just think building out lights is not where it should be yet. Just look at all the aftermarket and even factory remote switch issues with Surefire. It’s nauseating seeing people play the finger pointing and troubleshooting. I like Cloud. Not because their switches are the best, but because they work and if I have a problem it’s not on multiple companies, or just me to make it right. Adjust the battery tension and run it. |

Zero issues with them, a ton of rounds on them now, and I've bypassed the antiquated UE style caps and gone with unity gas caps with the USB-c connection. I think I have 7 or 8 of these, and they've all been 100% flawless. Not a single issue. |

Forgot to Mention Unity Gas caps. Awesome system I have 2 that I’ve been using since they were available in a lot of conditions , no issues. They basically refined the SF DS00 tailcap. A liner and mo secure Duel fuel is also a lot handier than people think if you are out doing stuff. | A company like Surefire sits on their ass while they are king of lights and charges outrageous prices and gives absolutely no CS for years. Doesn’t push the envelope to produce lights with more output (lum & can). Then a few new companies come along with new technology and innovation and then SF gets off their ass and follows the new guys! Not only does CD make a better product they have great CS. I’ve called them on the phone with just technical question and I talk to a person that is helpful and more than likely uses what they sell. |

I've had a few of each generation Rein weapon light. I've typically been a bit of a CD fan boy since the Rein series started. Great lights, great output, and I've never had an issue with any of them. Including the Legacy series. That said, I've really gravitated towards the Surefire Turbos. The output is tremendous. Despite the lumen rating being quite lower than the Rein 3.0, you don't really notice because the candela is so strong. Two other big differentiators is the mounts and the runtime. Besides the Turbo already coming with a Picatinny and an MLOK mount, the swiveling function adds a lot of utility in the various setups I use them on. And the runtime is more than double than what the Rein 3.0 has. I am also a big fan of the Arisaka/Malkoff lights. Despite having much lower power compared to the other two, you still get very useful output. Also, I believe the Malkoff heads have much better thermal protection than the other two, if I remember correctly. The steps down rating is excellent. |

The reason for the runtime difference is because surefire throttles their light after about a minute of it being on. It does t stay at full power every long. IME the cloud rein does stay at full power almost the whole time. |

Been very happy with my 2.0 that's been on my go-to for a couple years. Not happy with my Surefire M640df. Also it seems like cloud defensive has been acting shifty lately? You know what has never done me wrong? Streamlight. Been eyeing up their new TLR-1 HP/HPX line. |

| Finally got the 340dft-pro, bereli has the best pricing I have found. I got an acog for the 12.5 so there was financial delay in getting a light for it. I’m impressed so far. Just need to hit the range and do some testing. I should pick up the rein 3.0 for comparison. |

Does anyone have any experience with HRT Tactical? Either 1600 lumen/58,000 candela or the 1700 lumen/96,000 candela version? More specifically mixing and matching heads with the Arisaka bodies and various SF ecosystem tail caps, DA007 or Unity Gas Cap? https://hrttacticalgear.com/illumination/ |

I’ve got a micro 3.0, it works as well as the 18650 protacs. My main problem is the switch they include is one that needs to just not fucking exist. Constant on with momentary off, completely unintuitive, and the polar opposite of every other tape switch on the market. Worse, the switches are $70. Nice thing is, if you call/Email, you can get a momentary switch instead. Problem is that they don’t always have them on hand, and that should be the standard fucking offering to begin with. Or at least, have a drop down menu to choose the switch you want. As an aside, the way the switches mount kinda sucks, it’s a fiddly design. That said, while the rein is a better light, protac is probably a more sensible option. My plan is to consolidate with an Iris-4 to shave weight. I don’t really need a super long range weaponlight, it’s more for utility and indoor use than trying to ID someone at night from 200 yards. |

People like to shit on Cloud. But I've had great results with their stuff. I've got an MCH HC I daily carry, Rein micro on my A300, Rein Moonshine 2.0 on my 12.5, it's about to get a Rein 1.5 I got a smoking deal on as I'm tired of the moonshine. Just got my EPL and so far so good. As said above they clearly lay out how to avoid the flicker if you read the manual also using the right battery. I dunno why they're in the crosshairs right now. They were 100% up front last spring when they put out the pre-order ability on the EPL. They never said anything less than Fall 2025. And it shipped when they said. My other orders ship asap. I've had stuff back ordered that they were, again, up front about being back ordered. I don't get the hate. |

Have a few Rein 3.0's and one micro. I far prefer the size of the micro and the 3.0 is a big light. I wish Cloud would offer bodies so you could switch the size based on need. I don't really like their switches and went with the push button end caps which are way overpriced. And yes, the mounts are definitely awkward at times. Never had battery issues and I have a dozen aftermarket batteries I purchased after determining the exact size needed and staying within those parameters. Never had any reliability issues with any of them. |
