I'm not new to AR's but I am new to rebarrelling. I want to replace a 16" carbine barrel with a 20" barrel with a rifle gas system. Will I need to replace the buffer tube, buffer, spring, and stock to accommodate the rifle length gas?

Thanks for any help

Short answer, no. It will work with carbine components.

Maybe you know this, but don’t confuse the components based on the terminology.  “Carbine” buffer has nothing to do with “carbine” gas.  Same with “rifle”.  Many parts can and do affect how other parts function, of course, but people often get confused in this case based upon the wording.

just don't use a carbine length buffer in a rifle length buffer tube... the shorter length of the carbine buffer will allow the carrier to move further rearward and cause the gas key to strike the lower
