Anyone running a bolt spring for their piston setup? Years ago I built up a Syrac and Superlative setup. One has a spring I added, one does not. Cannot recall why I did it that way - other that an old AA rifle had that setup.

Superlative Arms told me that a bolt spring was unnecessary. I configured and ran my piston upper according to their recommendations for over 2,000 rounds. Hope this helps.

My PWS has a bolt spring while my LWRC does not. Both runs fine. Some design has them while some do not. The debate still goes on. I personally believe bolt springs are not necessary.
