My first build 22 years ago was a Rock River Arms (still have that lower). Stuck a complete target upper on it to shoot CMP matches. Built a few retros and clones over the years. This one I think is my finest one.  Mostly used parts. The LMT lower, LaRue trigger and lpk were new, and that may be about it. Most everything else came from the EE. Diemaco upper receiver and BCG. DD barrel and rail. I just finished it up last night, so have yet to shoot it. Feel free to post your finest build.

Good lookin' rifle.  Did you do the color fill on the f/s indicators?

As Tig stated, its factory. Normally, not a fan of color fill, but since it came that way……..

Those MARS lowers are nice kit.

Feel good new builds are the best. That DD barrel should be a good shooter.

I don’t think I’ll ever buy another brand. It’s not my first one. They shoot noticeably better than most others I’ve owned. But then, even used, you pay for them.

I feel the same about Colt's.

You did good. Quality parts are worth the premium. This is my favorite.

That's a very nice build. I appreciate the quad rail handguard. All my builds except one have quad rails with LaRue Index Clips.

The rifle on bottom...makin' the mid-length carbine Colt won't!  Still debating sling & light mounting.

I have been into AR's for almost 20 years (though took about a 6 year hiatus), and I've built a few lowers and changed out a lot of parts. But I'd never actually built one from the ground up until late 2022, and it was this 12.5".

-LMT upper and lower receivers
-Criterion Core barrel
-LMT full auto carrier with enhanced bolt
-Vortex Razor Gen II E 1-6X in a KAC EER MOD1 1.93" mount
-Trijicon RM07 RMR on Arisaka offset mount

Since then I've built the five others behind it, with the middle 16" being a budget minded build I recently put together for my sister in law. The 14.5" was technically a barreled receiver, so I didn't have to set the barrel nut or pin the FSP; and the 11.5" had the FSP pinned from Colt. But outside of that they were complete builds from the ground up.

Hard to say if the 12.5" is my absolute favorite, as I love all of them and they all have their own merits based on the intents and purposes for which they were built. But the 12.5" is my "if I could only take one" setup, so I guess that classifies it as my favorite.
