Just ordered an 18” BA barrel from Primary Arms. Anybody have any experience with this barrel or manufacturer?

Excellent, accurate, durable. GTG. They are my go to after larue barrels.

They've been around a few years and generally have good reviews.  I recently purchased an 11.5" BA barrel and it functions without issue.  Mine's not an accuracy build, so I can't comment on how accurate it is.  I know I've read comments from many people who were happy with the accuracy of their BA barrels.

I "believe" they are a subsidiary of Aero Precision, the ones I've seen (.300 BO and .308) appear to be of excellent quality.

Gtg. Got a blackout and 223 they are both great barrels

GTG in my experience. Every now and then you'll find someone who had an issue but I think that's more a reflection of massive sample size given their popularity.

I have a 14.5 and an 11.5.  Function 100% and accuracy is fine for the type of builds they are used for. Make sure you post a review of the18 in barrel. I have been eying it too.

I have a 14.5 modern, 13.7 modern, 11.5 modern, and a 10.3 Hansen. All 4 are more accurate than I can shoot and amazing barrels for the price. Although I will be swapping out the 10.3 incase I ever get fillings.

I have the 9" 300bo, 5.5" 9mm, a 10.5 556 and a 20"223

No complaints from me, GTG on all of them

i just bought a 12.5 in .308

I have a 16” pencil barrel I’ve flogged pretty hard with no issues.

My best 5 shot group I’ve ever shot was with one of their 308 barrels.

For the money I’d go with a DSA or Expo chrome lined barrel, but you could do worse than BA.

14.5" 5.56 and .223 Wylde and 16" 5.56 and .223 Wylde. All Hanson models with the factory pinned gas blocks. For $200-ish each you can't really go wrong. Accurate and well finished. I have never had an issue with them.

14.5" Mid length Hansen profile did this.

Ballistic Advantage has a sub-MOA guaranty. If it comes down to it, you send in your barrel and they rig it on their test platform. Very few fail.

Yes, they're excellent. They make the retro barrels for Brownells; I have a BA 20" pencil barrel on my 603/M16A1 build.

I would recommend their barrels.

Agree.

I've been very pleased with five of their .308 barrels, two of their 6.5 Grendel barrels, and with limited use thus far a 6mm ARC barrel.

I did have to return two of their Nitride .223 barrels due to failure to stabilize bullets resulting in damage to my AEM5 suppressor. BA was quick to respond during the issue and the third barrel, which was their bead-blasted SS version, shoots ok.

For the money, considering the MOA guarantee, they certainly are worth giving a try.

The old "I just bought this - tell me it's good" thread.

An Arf classic.

I have a BA Hanson.  Not great, not bad ... fair value for price.

20" govt profile shoots nice little groups and got me on paper at 980 yards first try. I've been pleased.

I have a 16" Hanson I got on a Black Friday deal for $130.

Great barrel, more accurate than me and nice finish.

BA barrels (premium grade) are good to go.  My 3 gun rifle was assembled with a BA 18" deep fluted .223 Wylde.  It has been 3 years and quite a few matches/practices, and it still shoots like day one. This is last month's pre-match confirmation at 300 yds using my match load of 55 gr blitzking over 25 gr of 2460.  Burris XTRII 1-5x zeroed at 200 yds. - It is a consistent <1 MOA shooter regardless of barrel temperature.

Generally they're gtg and believe they use 5r rifling.

I did get an 8" 300blk barrel that the threads were not concentric with the bore. BA did finally swap the barrel out following a little resistance.

Also a few of their Modern series barrels have crappy muzzle shoulders. So be aware if planning to suppress.

No complaints or problems with the few I have.
18” stainless for longer range shooting, with 75g match Ammo it’s extremely accurate.
16” performance for 3 Gun with mostly 55g plinking Ammo out to 450y is plenty accurate.
16” pencil with 55g plinking Ammo out to 350y on 12” steel is no problem at all.
12.3” with 55g plinking Ammo has been reliable but have only shot it out to 100y thru a red dot.

BA barrels are GTG. I got 3 barrels running

I'm in the GTG crowd.

10.5" on my pistol. I hit the 4" plate at 100 yards every single time I pulled the trigger using a red dot optic (2 moa dot). Nothing to brag about, but I was pleased with that. Exceeded my expectations.

16" on a rifle. The rifle had a RDS on it until I saw how accurate it shot, so I have since put a 4-14 power scope on it and use it for hunting hogs/coyotes. It's a solid moa barrel.

I have a BA 12.5 govt profile barrel on a SBR, she's very combat effective.  Ringing steel with ease at about 425ish yesterday with a red dot.

I bought a Modern series 16 mid, for one of my range toy only rifles. It's turned into a surprising good barrel that I held off on getting something better for it. Clearly not needed, buy with confidence.

I have 3, happy with them all.

I have (3) of Ballistic Advantage's FSB 10.3" barrels... They are most certainly GTG!

Whoever mentioned above that BA is a subsidiary of Aero Precision... I believe you are correct!

I own 3. All Hanson profiles. Dang accurate and tough.

I can't speak to their longer and/or precision oriented barrels, but their 4150 nitride stuff in 5.56 has been great for me.

I think their Hanson profile .300 blk barrels are the best deal going for function (gas port size and friendly sub/super POI shift) and finish for that caliber.

Their cheaper nitride barrels may or may not be pretty but every one I have used has shot great and is gassed well.

Both Aero and BA call it “partnering,” but it was my impression several years back that it was closer to an acquisition.

Took it out. Didn't shoot groups, but I was making 400 yard hits using Wolf steel cased ammo without much effort. It's a nice barrel and isn't as heavy as it looks!

Only barrels I buy anymore.  I like the Hansen profile.

Included gas block and the pinned system works well.

18” I’m assuming their Premium line? Those are great barrels.

I've got three, a 14", an 18" that I used in my "wannabe" MK12 and a 10.5. All were hanson profiles except the 18". Great barrels, I replaced a 14.5 Daniel Defense with the 14" with no regrets.

16” BA Hanson .625 profile. 10 shot group from 50 yards prone, Fiocchi 62gr .223. I’m not a precise shooter. My assumption is there are a few fliers in this group. If you cut the upper shot as a flier it’s a solid 2 MOA group. I have some 77gr Razor Core I’m going to try at 200 when I get a chance.
