Ok - thanks!  In the market, so I'll probably wait for Black Friday.  What is a good deal price point for 223 (FMJ)?

I agree...I think Palmetto has/had 5.56 55gr in ammo can, 420 on stripper clips for $108.99 after rebate.  Which is just under $0.26/rd.  Considering the ammo can is about $10, that’s $0.235/rd!

Edit: have to buy 2 cans for free shipping...but still!

Not a bad price for some plinkin' / range ammo. I don't normally buy online and try to shop local - that being said you may find some cheaper online somewhere but I dont normally bicker over nickels and dimes. Thats just me though.

$.05 x 1000 = $50
$.10 x 1000 = $100

do this 6 or 8 times a year and the savings adds up.

a nickel or dime a piece is probably before tax.

I always give locals a look before I buy. If they are 30%-40% higher than online, I buy online. I have 2 kids and a mortgage, besides I am not paying for some local's new Chevy Silverado's car note with each purchase.

I don't see the one you are referring to.  The Palmetto 556 420rnd is 149.99-20.00 (rebate) is 129.99 - Is there another code somewhere? Or did I miss a bigger sale?

Thank you!  Any guesses on prices we will see for Black Friday, or is .26/rnd about as good as it gets for decent range ammo?

Black Friday has not revealed any amazing ammo deals in bulk 5.56 ammo in several years.  With rebates getting you down to 25 cents a round, I would not count on anything better.

I think your best bet to get lower than that is to wait for a 10% off & free shipping code from Brownell's, sign up for Active Junky, and buy some American Eagle 5.56 that way.  Although, it doesn't look like their AE 5.56 is priced low enough, currently, to get you below $0.26/rd.

Another option is to wait and see if Palmetto is going to offer their AE 5.56 55gr with free shipping for 20+ boxes...right now, it's $0.2395/rd after the rebate, but that doesn't include shipping which adds $26 for 1000 rounds shipped to my location.

Looking for the best price on fusion MSR 223. Midway has it for $16.87/20. $2.50 rebate on two boxes. Anyone know of a better deal out there? Im thinking the chance of BF sale on it is pretty slim.

Went back to order another can. Now says 300ct.

Hope that previous 400ct wasn't a typo, and they meant the cans capacity.

Oh man, that ad is a mess.  Maybe not the deal I thought it was.
I've bought lots of bullets from them, but have never had an issue.
Send them an email to ask what's going on and hopefully they can correct the ad and honor your price if it is a typo or give you a chance to cancel.

I sent a box to @bluefalcon.  I asked him to test out of a 10.5” SBR and if he could, out of a 16” or 18” barrel as well.  It will be awhile as he is waiting to acquire a 10.5” upper.  I don’t think this round was designed to be used with SBRs, so it should be an interesting test.

1,000 bulk Lake City .223 at American Marksman for $222
