Here is my AA .50 Beo as when I first got it and how it looks today. Don't bother sticking a cheap scope on the .50. They won't last.
Just from the other day.... 
Cheap scope from CDNN, lasted a few shots......... 
I reload my own, never had a factory round through mine............. 
Soon after I got it out of the box, (Thursday, April 15, 2010) scope didn't last but about maybe 200 rounds.......

My finished 6.5 Grendel Build. Started as this stripped lower
and finished lookin like this! I love it! 
Upper, Lower, and Barrel are from Alexander Arms, bought individually and assembled by myself. I only have about 50 rounds through it and I gotta say, I am VERY impressed with it.

I gave my favorite 6.5 Grendel a makeover, so it's time for some new pictures! It started out like this (Foliage Green one): But now it looks like this:   Notable changes include changing from an 18" mid-length ARP barrel to a 20" rifle-length Satern barrel, upgrading from a Bushnell Elite Tactical 3-12x44 FFP scope to a Bushnell HDMR 3.5-21x50 FFP scope and swapping the ACS for a PRS. I also made a few changes that you can't see in the pictures, including a JP LMOS system and lightweight BCG. |

Finally picked up a low profile gas block so I finished putting on the Rainer Arms 14" Fortis rail. Lower is a Surplus Arms with PSA parts kit and Magpul hardware. Plenty of things I still need, like....
-front/rear sights -forward grip -compensator -keyhole rails -better optics. To many goodies to little $$$$  Now I just need to get to the range and put some rounds thru it. A few pics for your viewing.

Here is my 6.5 prior to getting its optic. AA upper receiver, bolt and 20" barrel. JP Fullmass bolt carrier, 1M hand guard, and low pro adjustable gas block. Surplus arms and ammo lower, DPMS LPK and MAGPUL PRS.

Not sure if the gas blocks are the same on the AWS and my entry version, but if they are, you just need to push the two pins on the bottom of the gas block out. By push them out, I mean you need a hammer and a punch, and probably a gun vise to hold your upper steady while you work on it.
Once those pins are out, the gas block and gas tube will slide off your barrel together. There's another small pin on the top of the gas block that holds the gas tube in place. |
