I would like to purchase a complete lower and upper to slap together to make a AR pistol chambered in 9mm.

The lower I want to use is

Will this work? Should I just buy a complete cmmg pistol instead of trying to save a few hundred?

I would just build one and save a lot more money.  That said, they should work together but any time you pair from different man'fs there can be fitment issies.

9mm AR's are a lot like AR-10's. Sometimes different manufacturers parts do not play well together. Best to stick with the same brand for the major parts when possible.
