I'm looking to stock up on some 7.62 magazines for my AR10. I've always gone with Magpul magazines and never had a problem, but I've never tried the Lancer mags. I heard that the military is going with Lancer mags now for 7.62, so they seem like they're vetted -- but are they worth the extra cost?
Which should I stock up on? |

Magpul . Because Magpul

I have magul in multiple gun platforms. No issues. Have not tried lancer. Magpuls are everywhere.

I have both, and use both regularly. I see no advantage of one over the other.

I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me and say "You're next". They stopped that when I started doing it to them at funerals.

until lancers price comes down out of the sky magpul is gonna have my vote. There is a couple alright metal options. but the good ones are stupid expensive too.

I have a crap load of Magpul's. They are relatively cheap and they work in my rifles. AR-10 in .308 and 6.5 cm.

The Magpuls are cheaper. I had regular issues with the first generation but the new ones have no flaws that I’ve found.
I don’t think the military is switching for sure. It’s all dependent on the XM7 project it seems (Sig contracted Lancer for the mags). The M110A1 is the new king of US military 308’s and it uses proprietary HK magazines. |

I couldn't decide, either. So, I stocked up on both. Also, added some Duramags for good measure.
My aero M5 mutt runs fine on all of them. |

I have a few Lancers and like 30 Magpul mags. The Lancers are really nice but at 3x the cost of the Magpuls it’s hard to justify stacking them deep. The Lancers are also longer and can be difficult to fit in some pouches.

FWIW... Lancers are great and durable, but expensive.
Also the mag spring is noticeably stiffer then the Magpul one. ... enough so, that it can slow my BCG movement. |

Lancer hybrid mags are the only AR mags ive had consistent problems with. Not sure what it is about them, but I wont run them again. I took them with me to a week long class, brand new from the package, as did 3 other guys that went with me. Every one of the mags had issues in every gun we used them in.

Clear mags on 5.56/.223 guns to spot those pesky .300 Blackout danger noodle creators. Not a problem in .308.

Magpuls as they are more affordable, even cheaper when I find used at pawn & gun shops. My PSA G3-10 work 100% with all my PMAGs, including my D-50 I got cheap used as well.
Lancer 556 AWM mags look cool and work, but I never tried their 762 mags. Much more expensive, never find them used & cheap, and they look hideous to me. I know looks is not everything but I'd be more interested in the Lancers if they made them look like their 556 mags but scaled up for 762! |

I like the 10rd Translucent Smoke for the SASS, but the Magpuls are a much better deal for the 20-25 rounders.

I have both, prefer my Lancer's but don't have as many because of price. I have Magpul but i keep the "Dust" cover on them when loaded (always) as I have seen cracked spines and spread lips. Along with a box of returns to Magpul for replacement. I have had no trouble with Magpul 20rd with covers in place unless in the rifle. Then the bolt keeps the top round off the feed lips.

My AR-10 uses Armalite Gen2 magazines.

I have both and both work great.
MagPul are about 1/2 the price of Lancer. I can't see buying more Lancer for that reason alone. |

As much as I like Lancers, their .308 mags are just way overpriced for the task. I run them both, but really, the PMags are good mags.

Get both.

"Positive rights" are neither.
Busy leaving people the F alone. |
You can get two Pmags for just one Lancer. And I have had feeding issues with Lancer 308's but none with Pmag 308's, which is odd because my Lancer's in 5.56 have been problem free.
